OttersSwim -> Hit the Vein... (4/2/2009 6:08:21 AM)

So fuck a duck** I am officially 45...but I don't look a day over 40 and I feel like I am still 30...so pffftttt!!!

For my birthday, my Lady gave me 45 with each of her favorite implements!  I have wonderful marks and several broken veins...and it got me thinking...

As we age, many of us will suffer from vericose veins.  Our skin changes and looses a bit of its elasticity and smoothness...yea, getting older sucks.

How does play affect things like vericose veins?  I have heard that exercise can ward them away...any experiences from older players with how regular working over of the nether regions affects those?  Does it make them better, worse, or no difference?

Inquiring minds want to know...  [;)]

Happy birthday!

I'm not sure about the vein question...but I have seen a solution on talk shows.

Something about heating the skin where the vein is, so it disappears.

I wouldn't try this at home.   *smiles*

Also, a woman I work with wears special stockings?

Either way, happy 45!

Happy birthday, Otter!  :>
I hear that they can laser away vericose veins.  Your query is a good one but that's all I've got.

DesFIP -> RE: Hit the Vein... (4/2/2009 10:32:47 AM)

Happy Birthday. I'm 54 but no vericose veins, doesn't run in my family, and there does seem to be a genetic component to that.

What does happen is that my skin takes a lot longer to rehydrate and lose rope marks. In summer it's a problem, in winter I just wear long sleeve shirts.
Bruises take longer to heal, limiting play until I've fully recovered. He's big into nipple torture and I am too sensitive for a couple of days after to tolerate the clamps again.

Add another that has nothing to contribute the the actual vein topic.  Just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday, Otters.  Forty-five strokes with each favorite implement?  You must have been a very happy birthday boy.

Otter - happy birthday for yesterday, and varicose veins are a failure of the valves in your veins , so the blood doesn't flow back efficiently to the heart - and exercise doesn't help. As another OP wrote, there is a definite genetic component, as is standing on your feet all day - think shop ladies.  Thats another one of those things that worrying about doesn't help.

More probably what you are seeing are spider veins - little veins you can see through the skin that don't bulge out. Just another joy of getting older. Can't do much to not get those either. [:)]

ps - wait til you hit 50 - then you notice all sorts of interesting aches and pains. Of course they are just physical, and most of the mental pains seem to have resolved by 50. So there is definitely a good component to getting older.[:D]
