The internet has allowed us to depersonalize ( is that a word?) our communication with others, which is sad. It is one dimensional communication, where a thought or statement can be taken in a way that it was not meant to be. It would be more thoughtful to respond when someone has made an effort to write, whether the interest exists or doesnt.

It might be polite. I used to respond to everyone who emailed, but it always resulted in another response therefore the need for my second response. I do not have the time nor the interest in responding to people who have not read my profile, who insult with demands or kink or sexual talk or even expectations of any sort. In the name of politeness and doing what is right for myself... if they come across in a wrong way, if they don't go by my profile and in any way are someone I do not wish to communicate with, I do not owe them a response... and that is polite to me. Anyone who gets upset because I do not respond... will simply have to deal with it. Their upset is another reason I would not want to have anything to do with them.

Sadly, there are people on the internet who will use someone's own good manners against them and feel clever by doing so. Thus the women here have taken to acting in the manner you have experienced to protect themselves. Another way to look at it is that being on the net is a form of power. There is a saying that power changes people. But there is a wiser saying. "Power does not change people, it causes them to revel themselves" If these people are rude and wannabes, why are you so upset about not having them in your life? Count your blessings and find someone better. If they are not, then what are you doing wrong? Outlier

You blocked me? le sigh How will I ever live the shame down? OP - There could be many reasons why there are no answers. I for one don't answer certain cmails, especially when someone blatantly has not read my profile. Unless they catch me on a bad day when I say to hell with manners and fire back an often bratty or snotty reply. (Shup, hollly, yer da bigger brat!) No answer can be many things - perhaps even a blessing in disguise. It's all in how we choose to look at things. [:)]

If you send someone an unsolicited message, it is no different than the electronic equivalent of the junk mail you find in your regular mailbox every day. I'm sure the insurance agent down the street and the steam cleaner company also put a lot of thought into the ad they are trying to entice you with, but you don't see the need to write them back, do you?

Had you written more than a 5 word sentence? Did you write in a polite and person to person manner? Did you sensibly and not in a HNG fashion? Did you fully read that person's profile before writing about your common interests? Justas an FYI......when I first approached Bear, I messaged him and spoke to his mind and not to what was between his legs.
