FR:

I've always had a fascination with isolated islands around the world.  Although I've never been here, Tristan da Cunha would be my pick for the world's most boring place.

http://www.tristandc.com/

Of course, it is a territory of the U.K.  As is Pitcairn, which I would imagine is really boring.   I think that's evident with the sex abuse stories from a few years ago.  I would also imagine that Greenland isn't a fun place to reside either.  Now if we're talking individual countries, I can't see Iceland as a party destination.

*shrug* my intended point is still valid though, even with clarification :P

Scotland is *very* different from England.

slaveboy, you need to brush up on your geography.  Iceland is a historically cultural matriarchy.  That strong deference to women, coupled with a genetic stock that runs to tall, strong limbed, big-breasted blondes and you might find it a sub-boy heaven!

I actually enjoyed the incredible hot springs, the amazing 2000+ years of recorded history, the gnomes and...yes, the women (they aren't ALL dominant).

I loved living (for a summer) in Scotland.  One of several reasons.

Boring?  You want boring?   Brockton Ontario.  BORING.  Just up Bruce Road #3.  A bit south of Cargill Siding, and north of Dunkeld.   Dull Dull Dull.  You have to go all the way south to Walkerton, now THAT's a hot little town.  Eh?

E.

"It's the same thing," he said.

Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
it has about 8 month long winters most of it being around -40 to make even a trip to the store a risk of major frostbite , dusty winds give a lack of color outside all year long, very conservative view points and a powerful standing army of door to door religious fanatics, the only excitement can be found in our ghetto type area where crystal meth runs rapid through an ignored lower class, hell even if your a junkie our stuff out here is just the crap they cant sell out west. i could go on and on but im bored even speaking about it..

of note we are the highest chlamydia and GTA per capita in canada! woo!!

True.  Although culturally I'd say Newcastle has more in common with Scotland than London.

Van..I loved Regina!  Of course, I was there in the late summer.....  The RCMP museum was great (except for the taxidermied horse and dog.. just creepy....).  but people there were very friendly...

Either way, there is a HUGE difference between the two areas (and hence the distinction in my favorite places).

I've spent an entire Sunday in Nijmegen, Holland which wasn't too interesting but (confession time here) one of my worst experiences has to be a one week camping holiday on the Belgian coast near Middlekirk. It wasn't until I was taking the ferry home from Zeebrugge that I noticed a large nudist colony between the prison and the ferry port.

Wyoming actually has exits off the freeway that lead to NOTHING!

In New Jersey we actually have exits that lead to........another exit.

I'm originally from the Seattle area in Washington state, and therefore used to grey skies, rain, etc. That part wouldn't bother me at all. I've never been there, but I've always wanted to visit Ireland, Scotland, and England. Perhaps one day I will make it happen.

Wyoming's GOT to be more boring than England.  Wyoming actually has exits off the freeway that lead to NOTHING!  Maybe they put in exits on speculation...

silly...
they go to peoples ranches.  you are just jealous that you don't have your own exit

Scotland is part of the United Kingdom, or Great Britain, not Britain proper, is how I was always taught.

Either way, there is a HUGE difference between the two areas (and hence the distinction in my favorite places).

...er...well you were taught wrong then.

Interesting.  Were Wallace et al and Longshanks engaged in a civil war?  Never thought of it that way.  Thanks for the link.

Nope...sorry....

The most boring place in the world is in the middle of Indiana. There is nothing to do, nothing to look at and no one to talk to.

Apologies to anyone who enjoyes the middle of Indiana...

*smiles*
