Ahhhh seems like I need to start reading Anne Rice again and add Queen of The Damned as well as Interview with a Vampire to my list. Ahh well it will keep me out of trouble if anything on this earth can.

IrishMist -> RE: Who likes horror movies? (2/9/2006 9:57:36 AM)

I read both books; Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned. Both I found to be very, very good. On that same note...I also saw both movies and found both to lacking. Neither followed the book very well, both added things that were never in the books, etc. If I had to recommend to someone which road to take...I would suggest reading the books and NOT seeing the movies...or vice versa.

fastlane -> RE: Who likes horror movies? (2/9/2006 1:29:47 PM)

I love Vampire movies, I find them romantic ...but then again, I too love to bite..hard!

The only scarey movie that really had me freakin...was the Exorcists. I read the book when it first came out, alone, in one of my first apartments and I swear I didn't sleep for two days. Since that time I have now seen the place where the home was filmed in Georgetown, as I live near D.C. Shiat, now I'm going to have nightmares!
That Fricken background music still freaks me out to............to this day..and night!

Not to worry. We'll protect you.

Only horror movie that ever freaked me out was The Ring. That chick coming through the TV was all kinds of messed up.

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Who likes horror movies? (2/11/2006 10:41:54 PM)

I thought the ring was utterly and completely stupid, but I agree the girl coming out of the tv was the major creeps.

IrishMist -> RE: Who likes horror movies? (2/12/2006 7:33:29 AM)

I have to agree with Feline here. I saw The Ring, even watched it 3 times thinking I missed something that someone else saw...found it to be totally stupid. I just could not follow the movie at all. The same thing happened with The Ninth Gate. Watched it several times hoping to understand what all the hoopla was about. Nothing.

Did anyone see that movie In God's Hand? I watched that one a couple times and found it quite interesting, though I would not claim it to be one of the better ones.

I just watched the most horrendious horror movie I've ever seen... It left me shaken and then they played excerpts from one which may prove to be even more terrible.........

siamsa,

If you want realism, rent Speck. It is a disturbing reinactment of Richard Speck's spree killing of a sorority house full of nursing students. VERY disturbing.

Feline,

I think I remember the movie you were referring to in your original post. It was about a killer that cut up women to build his "perfect woman". At the end she came to life and killed him. I don't recall the name of the movie, but I remember the scene where he ripped out a woman's tongue quite vividly.

********************************************

I am a huge horror movie fan, though I am not one for guts and gore. I prefer more psychological thrillers like Frailty, THEY and the original Nightmare on Elmstreet.

A very disturbing movie (because it is based on fact) is a little known movie called Savage Messiah.

Ms Sandi

Saw was an excellent movie, I haven't seen the second one yet, but I really want to.

I just saw the Green River Killer the other day... Thought it was dumb, but If you like movies about serial killers that kill hookers, always leave them in the same place, and never get caught, this is the one for you... I know that it really happened, but MAN, those people were dumb... it took them 20 friggen years to catch that guy?? sheesh...

But I liked Saw too, and can't wait to see Saw 2.... ummm. too.... lol (makes more sence when you write it than when you say it! lol)

OMG, I saw that. It was very disturbing, not something I would watch for entertainment value in any way shape or form.

Savage Messiah I have heard of but not seen. Maybe I should check it out [&:]

:edited to add the following

Has anyone seen the Underworld movies or read the books? I have seen both, and thougt that they were excellent. Just curious as to others perception of them.

I can't wait till he does... But, I think the first one was better... but I won't tell anyone why.. don't want to ruin it...

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Who likes horror movies? (2/23/2006 11:12:34 PM)

You can talk to me about it, I don't intend to see either one or two. And you wouldn't spoil anything for me. Unless you wanted to talk about it with people who had or will go see it

Does any one remember the name of that movie where it was about the first documented serial killer and he killed poeple and made outfits out of their skin and made lamps and stuff out of their bones? Was pretty neat I dunno I used to be a huge fan or horro at age 10 but now it's like take it or leave it, all though IT and candy man were the only two movies that left me fearing to use either the tub or the toilet.

Here is the crime scene of ed gien if it has not been posted yet On November 17, 1957 police in Plainfield, Wisconsin arrived at the dilapidated farmhouse of Eddie Gein

RedRedWine -> RE: Who likes horror movies? (3/5/2006 10:19:52 PM)

I love horror movies. Especially cheesy ones. Where they people wouldn't know how to act to save their lives and tags stick out of masks. Hah. My fav horror movie is Saw.

talmar -> RE: Who likes horror movies? (3/6/2006 11:23:42 AM)

I like horror movies to. I think Scream was great. If you all are into Vampires check out Nancy A. Collin's Sonja Blue novels. Those are very graphic & include some S/M elements. She is a great writer.

talmar -> RE: Who likes horror movies? (3/6/2006 11:27:03 AM)

If you want to see a more realistic & disturbing serial killer movie rent _Henry portrait of a serial killer_. That is a creepy flick.
