Let me tell you about tough love. I was marrid to an alkie for 17 years loved him for 20. He took me to hell and back always promised to stop drinking. Well finally I got up the nerve to kick him out  he died  six months later. Was that my fault no was it my fault he choose to drink no, do I still feel guilty yes. Am I working on getting over the co depenendents guilt yes I am but it is very difficult and anyone who has an addict in their life knows its not always black and white there is a lot of gray.

Yes I know... I now care for the one we all had to go tough love on... and the medical community didn't help... I know there is gray... I look at it every single fucking day of my isolated life.

I am very sorry for when tough love goes bad... and I know that some carry a guilt they should not have... and my heart aches for them, but... in a heart beat... I would do again the same things I did and so would everyone else in the situation, but one... He made his choice that we all now must live with... just as we did the years before and finally had to say no more... he was ruining our lives.

I know and live it first hand.

well, since im the one leaving, i honestly couldnt care less what happens to her now .....we have had endless heart to heart talks where i swore i would support her,,she's made endless promises about going into treatment, seeing a shrink, getting on mood stabilizers, blahblahblah,,,the promises were endless but it never came to anything so at this point i couldn't care less what happens anymore,,,and when i exit the door the last time, i will never lay eyes on her again

You know what Vincent? Speaking from personal experience, the one who is addicted/having mental problems/whatever is the one who needs to make the change. When it gets to the point that they are dragging you down with them it's time to get out.

Best of luck Vincent, kazza hopes it works out for you....and your friend too. Maybe now she'll get the help she needs.

look up the definition of interesting,,,it has lots of different uses..besides, to be completely honest,,im a cold hearted bastard once i reach my personal limit,,,now im actually looking forward to how she is going to act around me . knowing im getting out....im hoping she gets angry and frustrated,,,i really pissed her off earlier when she tried to start an argument and i just sat and smiled at her,,she literally screamed "WHAT THE F@@@ ARE YOU SMILING AT"...her frustration at being unable to get me to react was very satisfying
