Good Work Popeye!!!!....
As time goes on slip in a few free weights....believe me there is a difference!

I'm trying to be good this morning.  But, I will highlight the part that made me [image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m28.gif[/image].  That can be very, very painful!!  Don't try this at home. [:D]

Not necessarily. The little 2-pound barbells they have at the gym would probably work OK if you use enough lube.

Damn! Even my dick's getting harder! Must be better circulation.
No pushing and shoving Ladies!

One of the many benefits of good cardiovascular health is better erections!  [:D]

MissJanice2 -> RE: Excercise works! (4/5/2009 11:48:05 AM)

Congratulations.

I will join your party, and announce I have lost six pounds in three weeks since I joined Curves.
It is not a hard work out, but it is consistent.  I think that is the key.
I work out three times per week.  I stepped on the scales, and just about did a Carl Edwards backflip.

Best Wishes,

MJ

Well that's great Miss Jance, feels like a real accomplishment to get the weight off doesn't it?
Being retired military I actually like working out hard. I come out of the gym sweating and huffing and puffing.
I try to push myself a bit without hurting myself.

Ven, my erection and me says "Hi."
"Thumper" likes the gym too.

Congratulations Popeye!
I agree exercise works, I am addicted to wearing my pedometer.

4u2spoil -> RE: Excercise works! (4/5/2009 8:58:46 PM)

Congrats! I've been hitting the stairs and doing resistance bands to try to get of the pastry weight I've picked up since moving to Paris. I'm down 10 lbs from where I started, but still have more to go. It can be hard to keep up with, but exercise can definitely do the trick (moreso than diet alone)

Only our CM posters could take an innocent bit of advice and turn it into absolute KINK....always knew there was a reason I liked this site so much!!!!!!!

UncleNasty -> RE: Excercise works! (4/6/2009 8:02:24 AM)

Congrats popeye. I hope you're eating your spinach!

Nothing burns fat like muscle. Nothing builds muscle like resistance training. So once you've got it, doing even the simplest things, like reaching for a book on a shelf, you'll be burning more fat.

The isolation that machines offer comes at a price. Free weights use all kinds of secondary and stabilizer muscles that machines don't so the workout, and the effects of such, are spread to a larger and more inclusive area.

I consider a routine that eliminates either 1) cardio, or 2) resistance training, to be a deficient routine.

I started my routine just last Sunday. It has been 2 1/2 years since I've been able to workout. Initially I had an issue with my left arm at the inside of my elbow. Then the accident of 10/30/07 and associated injuries. Surgery last November, and rocovery from such, should leave me with a clean bill of health.

I do a split routine working chest, back and shoulders on the "A" days, and legs and arms on the "B" days. Cardio, ab work and flexibilty on all days. I get 2 workouts per routine per week, and have 3 days rest per week.

I'm starting very slowly at one set of light weights. It will take perhaps 6 weeks to work up to 3 sets with the light weights. Then I'll begin increasing the weight. The last thing I want to do is injure myself, even in minor ways, before my body is used to the increased stresses I'm placing on it. Hopefully I'll be able to increase the weights to levels I was at several years ago, when I was quite fit, by sometime in the fall. Fortunately I'm only trying to "wake up" muscles I already have and not having to build new muscle from the ground up.

I've really missed being able to excercise fully, and enjoying all the benefits of such - feeling AND looking better. I encourage all of us to spend more time on ourselves physically doing healthy things.

popeye1250 -> RE: Excercise works! (4/6/2009 8:29:25 AM)

Hey Uncle Nasty, good for you!
I think I'll stay on my routine for another month or so as it's working out so well!
I'd like to get down to 215 first and build more muscle first then I'll try working some free weights into my routine to work those secondary and tertiary muscles that you mentioned.
What you and SilverMark say does make a lot of sense!
And please feel free to post on this thread  so that we can *encourage* you about your progress too!
Encouragement always helps.

(giggles)  I cannot help but wonder what kind of exercise routines and gym this group of perverts would design.   [:D]

Interesting.

My gym is located in walk out, daylight basement. That happens ot also be the locale of my dungeon. When hosting larger parties I have pressed my "half rack" free weight frame and bench into service as dungeon equipment. I also make and sell some high end dungeon equipment.

So I'm already crossing and blending many of those lines. :)

Resurecting this thread Popey, as you had suggested we continue posting encouragment to any and all.

So....

Keep up the good work!!

This is a race against ourselves only, and victory will come not to the most swift but the one that stays in the longest.

Ven, what are you doing? Excercise program, diet or both?

UncleNasty -> RE: Excercise works! (4/10/2009 10:54:52 PM)

I'm glad you're keeping them Ven. Can they juggle?

popeye1250 -> RE: Excercise works! (4/11/2009 1:28:20 PM)

Well, I weighed myself today, still at 229.
I guess I'm building "muscle" and that weighs 3 times as much as fat.
The gut does feel like it's going down though.
