Bondage Step by Step Guides - 4/7/2009 12:43:18 AM

Status: offline 		Hello A/all. I'm pretty new to the forums, but I've been looking around for the past hour and I haven't found any threads on this, so I figured I should make a new post.

Well, I've been looking around on the web for some good bondage guides, but I can't seem to find any. At least not anything that I don't have to pay for in one form or another.

Are there any good web sites I can access on this? I still need to learn the basic knots and such, but I would love to learn the more intricate forms of bondage as well, and hopefully get the chance to use that knowledge soon afterward.

Status: offline 		You may want to try doing a search for "The Knotty Boys". They have some good stuff out there on the web for free. I believe they have some YouTube videos also.

Status: offline 		Erin is correct about Two Knotty Boys.  They have quite a few videos on YouTube and I believe they have recently published their second book.  I have a few of their videos on my site (my site is a free personal site)...their videos link to other videos of theirs as well.

Midori has a book.
And Jay Wiseman's Erotic Bondage is still a great beginner book with all needed safety info.

Thank you for your post

I too am new here. I am a photographer wanting to explore bondage and rope play images. Being new here. I befriended a wonderful Collared Couple. She directed me to this thread.

Thanks to all those that have responded with links. Are any of you in the central Kentucky area? And wanting to showcase your rope skills with my photography. See profile for images I have shot to get a feel of my lighting.

Status: offline 		The problem of many step-by-step guides is that they  do not include adequate safety information. In the above mentioned sites I've noticed several that don't include any at all, or miss specific important details (like one presenting an över-the-upper-arms" type harness without even mentioning the vulnerable nerves in that area). Step by step guides imo. are useful for people who already have a good knowledge of basic bondage safety issues than for complete newbies.

Most of our own beginners tutorials (that do include more than average safety info) are only available in Dutch so far, but our take on bondage safety is available in English as well. You can find it here

Status: offline 		there's a book out there, i can't remember the author, called 'The Big Book of Bondage/BDSM'. (i forget which word it ends with) it has step by step instructions for building your own bondage furniture, as well as various techniques for almost everything. every page has pictures and diagrams, and it only costs about $40. it was a really good find.

Status: offline 		There used to be a rope wiki but it has disappeared.  Some of the content from it, along with other bondage info, is now in various parts of the Wipipedia.

There are other basic ropework video clips on YouTube that are not by the Knotty Boys, such as these.

When practicing your own ropework, you might want to use two different colors of whipping on the ends of your ropes. Just so you remember your left from your right. On the more complex ties, it helps eliminate any confusion and frustration.

Rope (Hemp Preferred)

Begin winding the soft hemp around the arms and over the torso, crossing behind the back,
making sure not to bring the rope up to the nape area of the neck. Secure the rope tightly
and begin bringing the slave into a seated position, folding said slave forward into a coil
as far as is possible without causing undue restriction on the diaphragm. Bring the rope
around the ankles and back up over the shoulders, threading through the cross and
returning the rope over the opposite shoulder back down to the feet. Additional tension
is applied slowly bringing the head farther down to the ankles. Master must be mindful
of slaves breathing and blood flow, encircling the slave whilst encouraging energy
transfer in tune with the slaves nawashi, assuring said slave that until such......THUD...
