My longest single relationship is with a poly partner who describes himself, quite accurately, as "sexually submissive." So, when it comes to sexual sorts of interactions, I'm in charge, even if I bottom. (And that's a good thing, because I do not submit—I may acquiesce, but not submit.) Now, being dominant outside of the bedroom? I have to make an effort, and point out to him when my technical knowledge and experience of computers (for instance) trumps his knowledge of and skills in making things using 19th-century and prior technology.

Every relationship is different: being poly, I have occasion to discover (as I go along) just how that works in my kinky relationships as much as in my personal ones and my sexual ones and my loving ones and my mentor/apprentice ones.

Good luck!
Lady Delilah Deb
