Well, I'll believe the rigged game is over when I see it. The manipulation is plain for anyone to see but will be ignored until it can't possibly be missed by even the most feeble-minded. Instead of going after the real story that is happening today, the media writes about stuff already in the past - Madoff, for instance - or they write ad nauseum about AIG's bonuses while giving a free pass to the trillions of dollars being given to bailout the banks. Just like the illegal naked shorting of stocks was totally obvious to anyone involved in the market but let to go on unabated. Although one had to appreciate the ironic justice meted out as the criminal financial companies found their own stocks naked shorted as they crumbled. On the JP Morgan short position, one has to look at the Hunt position talked about earlier on the thread and how the government was quick to react against that smaller position. Meanwhile, the CFTC somehow thinks its perfectly fine for a couple of banks to have a huge concentrated short position. Anyway, I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know...

Just send them on to me, Hunky. I'll keep 'em for ya, nice and safe for only a small fee... Seriously, consider a safe deposit box for it. Or put in a floor safe and hidden or a regular "gun safe" that is bolted down.

You are an informed man. :-) There are more Madoffs to be found. The powers that be dont want people thinking about Silver/gold or owning it. It is harder for a middleman to take a cut out of it. So in a way- they are correct. However- them being such a horrible custodian of the public til, and no punishment happens to these thiefs. tells the larger story. It is a HUGE con job. MY brother doesnt get it. Neither of them do. I personally havent lived in a currency collapse- but I do know enough to see what is coming. We are screwed. The term, "backwardization" is one to get familliar with. As both Silver and GOld are in backwardization.

This is my last post on this thread (maybe). Like I said earlier it is your money, but gold or silver will not pay a dividend. If you have money to play around with and can afford to lose it, go for it. I just don't understand how holding it in your hands makes you feel better when it is worth less than when ou bought it..

Of course- it is more fun when silver goes up in price. But drops in price are a buying opportunity. Anything to do with interest is smoke and mirrors. While that 'could" work to you favor- often it does not- and in particular with mismanagement of monies by institutions. More middlemen. If a CD paid say 7% certainly that would be a good argument. Even still, trillions in bail outs- lending out money 45-1, and casino type tactics with no regard for Main Street., has me on guard. One has to get familiar with gold and silver to recognize the current market. Any paper that is a promise to pay- or promises ANYTHING is to be questioned. We are in a once in a lifetime event. The DOW "could" rise- and yes- you "could" get a dividend. But if bread is $40 a loaf and milk is $65 a gallon- it is no gain to the person.

And unless you've set yourself up to produce that loaf of bread and gallon of milk.........your gold and silver is going to disappear just as fast as paper money. I prefer to invest in a property that can sustain me. I cannot eat gold and silver.

I must admit- you are further along then I am in this preparedness. Add to this 2 mice running around my house. I dont think I want excess food here. Until I fix the mouse problem.

Hopefully today, I can convert some digital silver into physical silver- people sold off but earnings reports are coming out soon. At times I cant keep track of it. Then they mixed up my order. Anyhow- even if I dont get rich- it is a fun hobby. ;-0

This is what old-timers used to have pie-safes and breadboxes for! I had a mouse problem back when I had a room-mate, and I stocked up on cookie tins for food storage. They helped. But getting rid of the room-mate was the long term solution. As far as hiding places: someplace away from damage by fire, I'd suppose. Someplace where you would never be observed accessing it...so, like a basement, or garage floor, perhaps? Basement would be more secure.... If you buried it in your yard, might a curious dog dig it up? Things to ponder!

Why should gold and silver keep their value if the monetary system collapses? You can not eat them, they are not usefull as building materials, you can not heat with them ... they are pretty much useless.
