ive had some interesting responses to the questions ive put up here,,,i like getting to know about how peoples' heads work...so....for anyone who is a lover of military history, hardware, etc...

given the chance, what military aircraft, regardless of country or era, would you love to take a hop in?

personally, my choice is difficult....i can't fly but i'd love to get behind the stick of a Warthog over a desert and just squeeze the trigger on lots of shit that would blow up

second would be a AC-130, don't want to fly it,,just want her to lean over and let me squeeze the 105 until we run out of ammo,,again , on things that explodes violently

A Stokoi would be cool, it is a Russian-made helicopter that can invert and do four-point turns and rolls.
A nice American fighter jet too, less likely to fall apart!

In my youth (about 100 years ago LOL!) I was a paratrooper and I jumped out of most of what I rode in. I agree with Vincent. A warthog is such a neat compact killing machine able to wreak havoc. They fighter poilets love them too from what I have heard.

i have a son-in-law in the 82nd.  i never could understand jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft.

i'd like to ride in a B-2 Spirit.

I'd love to fly a Harrier.  Back when the military did live fire demos for entertainment, I was awed by this machine, as the pilot had it dancing right in front of us. VSTOL aircraft just rock!!!!!!

I'd rather drive a tank!

i agree, in part...the concept of the harrier is intriguing, but ive read numerous reports that state the military has limited training flights due to budget concerns, and if a pilot doesnt get a whole lot of hrs behind the stick of the harrier its next to impossible to stay proficient, and because their training hours are cut back so badly alot of pilots are getting hurt or worse behind the stick,,,granted the scenes in true lies with arnold piloting made for great visuals, but comeon,,how can you not respect a plane that can have an engine shot off, half it's tail, half a wing, and still bring it's pilot home in one piece,,,,hell i want a titanium bathtub for the apartment just in case i start taking flak

besides, theyre so dammed ugly and ungainly looking, you got to love them.......it's like oscar, the dog in my profile picture,,,he is ugly as sin and i adore him, partly because of his looks

Vincent,

Please let me know when you are taking your Warthog flight.  I have NO desire to fly any kind of plane, but would love to ride in one of those and riddle something with depleted uranium slugs.  I do have a short list of targets, btw.

yours

In no particular order...

- an F-106 "Delta Dart" interceptor
- an A-10 "Warthog"
- an SR-71 "Blackbird"
- an AH-64 "Apache" helicopter

and a tank.

Oh, and riding in a Los Angeles class submarine as it does one of its "jumping out of the water" moves.

Should I ever win the Power Ball, part of that would go towards finding a P-51H Mustang (but I'd settle for one of the red-tailed P-51Ds flown by the Tuskegee Airmen).

You know, I would have loved to have taken the Blackbird for a spin.  And I'd be happy to fly the space shuttle, even if it isn't exactly a military aircraft, but I believe it's always piloted by a military pilot.
