About 18 months ago I lost a great job.  Since then I've only been able to find part time, contract work.  Subsequently, my home has been in foreclosure for quite some time.  And even though I found a full time job in November, it only pays 1/2 as much as the old job.  The mortgage sale date is May 1.  I have tried everything I can to get the mtg co to work something out but their only offer exceeds my finances at this time.

So in honor of the David Rees comic "Get Your Way On", I humbly give you "Get Your Foreclosure On" at my cheesy little web site: www.belami2.com

Your feedback is welcome.

Enjoy!

~Dave

You need to fill out a financial statement for your mortgage holder and ask if they would be willing to do a principal adjustment.

List your hardships, such as the mortgage principal exceeding the value of the house, your income being to low to make your current payments, etc.

Thanks for the info but in short: I have and they weren't.
Not much left to do except pack up the place and put it all in storeage.

Dear Dave,

My heartfelt sympathies to you and yours for having to go through all this.  The law firm I work at deals with a lot of post-foreclosure issues and we have seen as many as 200-300 new cases come in per month for almost a year.  That is for my county alone.  It really is a terrible epidemic that's going on.

Warmly,
Red

Mr. Dave,

I'm very sorry to hear of your predicament, but glad to see that you are able to keep your sense of humor out.  Your site made me smile.     I'm sure that good things are in store for you.  One day you'll look back to discover that this series of events placed you exactly where you needed to be for a wonderful opportunity.  Happy Easter.

yours

Thank you all for your thoughts :)

I think I've managed to accept the inevitable but I suspect when Moving Day comes I'll be a bit of a basket case.
I have, at times, considered trashing the place, removing every scrap of copper - both wire and plumbing, an accidental fire, leaving the water running, and various other acts of childish rebellion.  But I think I've settled on taking all the appliances and all the really cool wire shevling I've installed in the closets, garage, and pantry.  Of course, I'm open to any suggestions you might have - anything I can do to Stick It To The Man!

Hey Wells Fargo: re-amortize THIS!
