"It's unclear why the woman entered the bear habitat".

Actually, it's very clear.  She's a dumbshit.

MasterG2kTR -> RE: Polar Bear Mauls Woman (4/12/2009 4:16:41 PM)

She's clearly making an attempt to claim this year's Darwin Award

intenze -> RE: Polar Bear Mauls Woman (4/12/2009 4:20:01 PM)

Agreed, shallow end of the gene pool on that one.

kiwisub12 -> RE: Polar Bear Mauls Woman (4/12/2009 4:22:43 PM)

I'd award her the Darwin Award based on these actions.    In fact, i would say that her actions were genetic selection in action.  I hope the bears don't get an infection from biting her.[:'(]

Unfortunately, she lived.  Darwin awards are for those who left the gene pool.

kazzaslave -> RE: Polar Bear Mauls Woman (4/12/2009 5:07:15 PM)

Well what's the point in receiving an award if you don't even get to enjoy it?

And I'll bet she's already had kids, so her stupid, and/or crazy genes have probably already been passed on to the next generation. If she has, then logically that should disqualify her from eligibility for a Darwin Award- except I don't think they rule out those who have already had kids, for Darwin Awards.

sunshinemiss -> RE: Polar Bear Mauls Woman (4/12/2009 5:51:30 PM)

Well gosh... I'd like to pet a coyote too.  You think that could be a problem?  I was thinking they feel like a puppy dog.  We really need to find out if that is the case.  Don't you think that's a good idea?

mm hmmmmm.

ThatDaveGuy69 -> RE: Polar Bear Mauls Woman (4/12/2009 5:58:11 PM)

I'll just bet when - let's call her Freulien Dipshitz - recovers she will try to seek damages from the zoo.  Yeah, they do that crap in Germany, too.  On the other hand, I think Sunshine might have her volunteer for the coyote petting :D
I'm thinking the best time to pet a coyote, for that puppy dog feel, would be when they are still pups, preferably while they are distracted by nursing off their mother...

Can't wait to see the video on that!

Cute Bear. You're hard to leave alone my dear.

And yes, the chick is a dumbass!

beargonewild -> RE: Polar Bear Mauls Woman (4/12/2009 7:06:27 PM)

Yes and why a person would want to approach a wild animal and get up close and personal is beyond me.

You know, sometimes you really don't need to dig too deeply into something to see the essence of the matter.

sunshinemiss -> RE: Polar Bear Mauls Woman (4/12/2009 7:47:47 PM)

No, no, in fact I was just about to leap heroically to your defense like a rotund, large-spotted, black and white superhero! You're not insane at all. Petting coyotes isn't that crazy. They can be socialized, and domesticated. It is within your grasp to achieve your goal.

But anyone who's stupid enough to hop a fence and snuggle with a polar bear needs to seriously consider renting the inside of her skull to a family of raccoons so as not to let the space go to waste. This constitutes an entirely new definition for the word "moron."

now that's funny.  I am so glad there was no liquid in my mouth.  Spewage is never pretty!

*thank you for splaining.  I feel better now.

Oh, I see what you were talking about. That's screwy. All I did was hit the "quote" button on Steven's post, and it did that weird formatting thing.

I think that's a Firefox issue. It only happens to certain posters, so I'm guessing it's related to whatever browser we're using. It happens to me several times a week, and Spinner Of Tales has it happen at least 75% of his posts. I never saw it capture part of someone else's screen name like that, though. That's really odd.
