Is there a basic difference between a Pro Domme and just a woman who likes to control?
I understand that a Professional gets paid for services rendered, but a woman who is not getting paid is doing for a different reason, I would think, maybe not.
Do they both do if for sadistic satisfaction or is there more to this?

I do both for the same basic reason:  I'm no sadist, but I enjoy being myself in the control-loving sense.  I rarely get to show that (in its extreme) and it's such a normal, everyday part of me.  I've done and will do it pro again because I like getting paid for having fun, paperwork included (I love deskwork, too!).

A Domme is a woman who likes to control.    A pro Domme is a woman who likes to control.    Does that also mean that every Domme is a pro?    M

I don't do it without some connection, and I make My own salary--in the public world--but at times, I think I am not as good at it--because I have a connection.

Absolutely there's a difference.

I have learned that I form connections with people I scene with. Some women fall in love with men they have sex with. Me, I fall in love with the people I flog. Ergo, part of the process of finding the right people to be in my life as my submissives is to find someone who I can safely do this with, who has an equivalent attachment to me. This can be in the form of friends who scene on occasion, or something deeper and more intense. I don't consider this wrong or right, it's just the way I'm wired emotionally. So due to this, I would never pro-domme.

That said, I don't see anything wrong with pro-dommes. I mean, why not make money doing something you love?

I think it really depends upon the pro dominant. There are some who are completely into the thrill of domination, while there are others who see it as a quick paycheck. The ones who tend to last the longest are the former, but that doesn't mean the others don't have what it takes to last a long time either.

As for the differences between pro dominants and a woman that likes to control, I'm not really sure why the question is being asked. Everyone does things for his or her own reasons. I serve women for probably different reasons than you do. For every person out there, you're probably going to run into a completely different reason.

My advice (not that I get the impression you're really looking for it, but why not) is to treat each person you come across as a unique individual and a unique opportunity to get to know a person of substance. Treat her with respect, be honest and upfront, and give as much as you want to receive, and chances are the categories between these two distinctions won't mean all that much to you. I say this as I've been in long term relationships with those who like to control, and with professional dominants on non-professional terms. People are people. They are unique and wonderful because of that uniqueness. Try to find the spice in the variation that it is that makes them different, and you find the reason why making a connection is so much more wonderful than just putting things into categorical boxes. That's what I did, and now I'm the Hair Club President. Oh wait, that didn't come out right. Anyhoos.

That's what I said about that whole bank robbery thing.

Stupid cops and their criminal justice system!
