KneelforAnne -> What are your hopes? (4/14/2009 8:07:02 PM)

I've recently been talking with someone and he asked me what my hopes are for myself.

It was quite the exercise. I had vague wants, but I think writing them down has helped me really focus on what I want, and hope for in both my D/s M/s relationships and my life.

Now, I am bringing the question to you.

There are no qualifications to this.

Simply... what do you hope for?

KneelforAnne -> RE: What are your hopes? (4/14/2009 8:09:05 PM)

I hope to continue to be a happy person, through my life.

I hope that I am strong enough to really be who I am.

I hope that I am a good daughter, sister, friend…eventually a wonderful lover, wife and mother.

I hope NOT to look back at my life and wonder what the hell I was doing, and why I didn’t do XYZ.

I hope NOT to make some horrific mistake and wonder what the hell I was thinking.

I hope to be someone that others find comforting.

I hope to be someone that others find beautiful, inside or outside, or both.

I hope to find myself beautiful.

I hope to be kind.

I hope to be understanding. Sometimes I feel that I am quite judgmental…I hope to let go of that.

Daddysredhead -> RE: What are your hopes? (4/14/2009 8:54:11 PM)

I hope that I always remember that the advice I would give to my dearest girlfriends goes for me, too.

(and to those who know what I'm talking about, thank you for your wisdom and love)

Satisfaction. I already have happiness, and i already have contentment, but satisfaction eludes me. If I am able to attain that, it will be because everything in my life has found its proper place.

mdr080480 -> RE: What are your hopes? (4/15/2009 7:03:52 AM)

I hope to see 66 years on this planet. (My father and his father both died at 65. But at least I got two half brothers who are older than me to see if they make it past 65.)

I hope my kidneys will stay in the state they are in and not worsen.

In addition to finding true happiness, and all that jazz, which I hope to find, I try to be upbeat, but too many years as a cynic is hard to let go of.

I hope that I learn more effective ways of destressing, and not let the little things annoy me so much.

I try not to be too judgmental, and I hope to be more understanding of differences, which I feel I am, or at very least, can be.

My biggest hope is that I am not a disappointment to those around me.

To continue to be as awesome as I already am.[8D]

I find this hard sometimes too! It's good to surround yourself with friends who will tell you like it is...and to whom you can reciprocate!

*smiles*

Thanks for the thoughts!

Hello ThatDamnedPanda,

Satisfaction is often elusive. I wonder if we ever reach the point of being satisfied with the attempts toward perfection rather than meeting the goal.

Hmm….

Here’s hoping you are satisfied, soon!

Here’s hoping! Think of all the medical breakthroughs that have happened in that time!

The devil is in the details, no?
I don’t know how to help you on this one…. The little things get to me sometimes too!

Yep. High five on this one. That is a major fear of mine. The thing that I have recently realized is that those around you love you for who you are (or should) and just want you to be happy and centered.

Thank you for sharing mdr…

Cheers for Florida!

Hello subtlebutterfly,

Indeed! Who wants to regress…. I hope to be as awesome as you someday…!

*giggles*

Isn’t it a difficult concept? I think dreams are for actual goals that one can see…that one can measure.

Hopes for oneself are a bit harder to pin down…at least for me.

Thanks for trying!

Love.

Beauty...in whatever form it comes in.

Patience.

(That'll do it :) )

AngelGeena -> RE: What are your hopes? (4/16/2009 7:56:42 PM)

I hope to be around and relatively healthy at my dad's age (turned 80 this year)

I hope to always be the kind of friend that I want to have.

I hope to always be the kind of mother that my kids know they can come to me with anything.

I hope to get better at seriously thinking over what I say before I speak in certain situations.

You know, that's one of the nicest thinsg anyone's said to me in a very long time. On a day that it just happens I kinda needed to hear something nice. Thank you. Very much.

Puts the shit I'm dealing with the last couple of days in a whole new perspective. Good luck to you, man. Here's hoping it's sooner than later and better than you'd hoped for.

* i hope i will continue to better myself as a mother, daughter, sister, friend, lover, and as a woman on a daily basis.
* i hope my children will be content adults.
* i hope to break bread, and drink stellar wine as often as possible with those who color my days and see me through the night.
* i hope i can teach an eighth of what i have been taught.
* i hope i can forgive ... myself more then anyone else.
* i hope i can help as much as i have been helped.

My hopes are really quite simple; I have only one and that is that all the youngins live long, healthy and happy lives.

I'll say that it's probably easier for you to find beauty, if you're open to it's form.

Many thanks for sharing!
