If it had been a cut and dried case of just rape,without the victim attempting to rob the place first, that would be awful of course. (I KNOW whereof I speak.) But with the available information, it seems to me that the robber played with fire and got burned.

The robber is lucky Olga didn't kill him. In the US, he might have easily been shot dead, as soon as he came in trying to rob the place.

Granted, robbery was not the right thing to do on his part; however, you present yourself of what she did provided justification simply because she was angry at the robber. Ever heard of two wrongs don't make a right? That is like a robber taking things, and killing the victims because he did not want to get identified by the police. A lot of that happens here in America.

She simply could have called the police immediately after she tied him up and been there until they came to pick him up.

Status: offline 		Regardless of whether people find it funny, it's hard to imagine any reason to feel sorry for the guy. He walked into a place of business and apparently threatened innocent people with violence, yet he still walked out alive (eventually). He should count his blessings.

Status: offline 		Unfortunately, "rape" is defined by the laws in the relevant jurisdiction, not by what we think it should mean.  I don't know the definition of rape in Russia, and therefore can't comment on whether this was rape.  I doubt most of the posters on this thread know the definition of rape in Russia either.

By our laws, it's certainly unlawful imprisonment and all kinds of other things, and in our country she would probably go to jail for this.

Status: offline 		A few miscellaneous points. First, technically it is rape. I've never tried Viagra, so I don't know how involuntary the effects are. And as to the physical appearance of the Russian hairdresser, the picture on the Russian news website Russia Today was actually attractive (see below). I have no idea of the story is real or made up. Believe half of what you see and none of what you year and less of what you read in Russian newspapers. But I can't imagine why they'd make up this story. As for people debating whether something so serious as this rape should be joked about: oh please. Many women (and men) fantasize about being raped. That doesn't mean they really want it to happen to them.
