Kana -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 6:04:58 AM)

Mine's an old high school nickname taken from Tolkien's Elvish
Kana means fire.
I was called that cuz I have a tendency to get passionate about things
Shocking, I'm sure.

I use swtsurrender as my screen name on a few other sites.  I got the nick from Aerosmith's "Don't Want to Miss a Thing".

Yep.. Savatage :)  I cant count how many times I've seen them.....
or subjected me to their hair metal ways....sigh

Savatage is NOT hair metal.

(makes note to load a bunch of Sav onto my ipod just for Sci, in May)

No, IT's have a compass. Stop end of sentance. Need a willing accomplices. Stop. End of sentance. It's not about the compass needing an accomplice.

I have the compass, and I need a willing accomplish to go on this journey with me and my compass.

And I am still scratching My head, and trying to wrap My brain around why and how a "compass needs an accomplice".   What da heck???  An accomplice for what purpose?  I just don't get it....

Oh.  My 'tagline' is a line from a song.  Anybody out there know which one it is?  (Hint:  it is not a Moodies song, nor a TSO one)

That's cool, on one site my nick name was equestreanne, and every one is like you spelled it wrong it's trian. and I was like I know I spelled it that way on purpose. my middle name is Anne, and I ride horses, so I am an equestreanne.

irish, any nick name online real life what ever, nick names are nick names , all though mostly online cause it'd look really silly to go around in real life and say hi my friends call me compass needs acomplis lol

Well then, in that case [8D]

Irishmist was chosen because well, I am Irish [8D] and mist because it's a shortened version of my real name Misotara. I have been called Mist since I was in grade school.

TSO has been coming to Cleveland for the past 11 years now, doing their "Christmas" tour.  They sell out every show.  And rock the house!  Because Cleveland  "launched" TSO, Paul O'Neill promised that every time they come to town, we will always get the "A" group performing.  Paul, Bob Kinkel, Chris Cafferty, Alex Skolnick, and I forget the drummer's name.  Sorry!

But what else would you expect from Cleveland?  This town has not only launched many major acts, but many are from this area as well.

*~*~*  CLEVELAND  ROCKS!!!  *~*~*

It's more than just a saying....
When I first got into this lifestyle, I had met a Dom from Cleveland, and our first meet was seeing TSO there at Christmas... I had never heard of them at that point and was completely blown away. Was also introduced not long after that to the SMART group, and what a great bunch of people.  Yes,  Cleveland rocks!!

I might not be that clever. I've used other nicks on other sites, but wanted simplicity here.

But of those other nicks, I never choose them based on any (un)popular media items.

VampiresLair -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 6:56:06 AM)

My solo name, DiurnalVampire, is from a book. Its one I am writing, however, not one I have read. My nilla nicks come from the same book, KiTaen is the name of the main character and she happens to be a daywalker... or a Diurnal Vampire.

The story was mostly written in high school and college, so it was at least begun well before I was online.

Our nick on here now for the couple is what we plan on calling my photo studio if that ever comes into being.

I don't care if it's popular or not popular in media's eyes. I just care if it inspires me and I like it.

For me personally I don't like nick names that will not remain true, if I should ever change, and I am not static but the names are,  like mrscowgirrl20. I made that user name for msn when I was, well 20. And now I am 26 it's not accurate any more. And I would never make a name w/ith sub anything in it, because then I'd have to make a new name should I ever desire not to sub any more, and it has happend.

When I was 18 I identified as a sub then 4 years later, I realized I was a bottom and more than that I was someone who wanted to have a dominant presence about me daily and be bossy and out spoken and not at all subservient. Then I realized I was a switch who wanted to bottom to some and dom others,  so anything static that can't change as I change was never a good fit.

My nick "igor" is after the Marty Feldman character in Young Frankenstien. On another site I use the nick "filletofsoul" after the old Jan and Dean album from the mid-60's...though I think it was supposed to be spelled with just one "L".

The first time I saw your nickname, I thought perhaps it was pronounced like 'Soobangy' in a JungleBook-ish sort of way.

dreamerdreaming -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 10:16:50 AM)

I love Young Frankenstein!

OP, my name is from a line in a song.

I later found out that I botched the line. Its okay though because I like my wording much better. Dreamerdreaming suits me.

windchymes -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 10:57:54 AM)

I was registering for the site and needed a new nic, and I heard them tinkling outside the window and I went with it.  Added the 'y' just cuz.
