Hi Mist, I'm frequently blown away by music. Liked yours and Phil's suggestions. Here are mine:

Clubbed to Death by Rob D

Subject Beautiful - I love how an entire orchestra has embraced Drum and Base music, and it's a sheer joy to see the conductress and many musicians so into the beat, and hilarious how the audience of classisist snobs just didn't 'get it'

Primavera by Ludovico Einaudi - I want to do perverse things to this man thanks to his music.

This Is The Life by Amy MacDonald - Can't sit still when I hear her sing.

I like so many different kinds of stuff, altho I tend to stay with what I know, Mandalay, Rammstein, Evanescence all got me when I first heard them also trancy ambient stuff and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SO4LyKd-Hws
I loved this one the first time I heard it.
Lucy

they are kind of different; have almost a hard metal edge to the music. Interesting combination.

OH my, now that is some good music lol.
The Ruts have always been good to listen to; they remind me alot of the Ramones though. And no one can ever go wrong with Buddy Guy and Prince Buster.

Some things I really, really love....

I remember going to see Carmen, and I didn't understand, like they told us the entire plot, they gave us a booklet about the whole scenes, and I was like, um, I don't get it.....Then I heard the totally unique singing and was like, I love Opera....unfortunately, I love it soo much that I almost never listen to it.....

Too much of a good thing is ->  IMHO ->  BAD, very very bad.......

I listened briefly to this music, and was like, yea, similiar to "queen of the damned" movie.......its interesting in a kind of irritating way......

Music for a bdsm scene? The above sounds may do it for you but I prefer to flog and flail away to the sound of Julie Andrew's "The Sound of Music" or Frank Sinatra's "I Did it My Way", just to name a couple.

I never said anything about the music only being used in a BDSM sense.

The drums and pipes of a scots regiment in formation and playing in unison is one of the most stirring occasions a person can experience. A lone piper can move me to tears with the haunting melody that is quite simply, soul-stirring, Max.

My teenager was listening to music the other day, and through her door I kept hearing this very strange beat. Finally, I asked her what the song was and she played it for me.
Now, I like classical and Jazz; very rarely do I deviate from that music genre.
This group though blew me away.

Being a musicaholic I've encountered tons and tons of songs that have blown me away
This song really reminds me of Rammstein..except I prefer Rammstein's beat muuuuuuuuuchmuch better.

Clubbed to death by Rob D will always be one of my all time favorites
then there's
Chop Suey (system of a down)
Carmen Queasy (Skin&Maxim)
Schizophrenic Conversation (Staind)
Bring Me To Life (Evanescence)
Mutter, Engel, Du Hast, Sonne, Links 2-3-4 (Rammstein..what can I say..they're gods when it comes to beat)
Rain on Your Parade (Duffy)
Heavy Rotation/Left Outside Alone (Anastacia)

I could go on and on..

They're what you'd get if you forcefed the Ramones reggae records for a month. (That's a good thing, naturally).

I generally fall head over heels in love with at least one new band a month and rediscover several old ones. Current obsessions include:

Laibach (any Rammstein fan should really check Laibach out.  They're an obvious influence on them)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YE_j0xIsJA

Shampoo (seriousness is not the same thing as authenticity, no matter how often virginal Radiohead fans claim otherwise)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zf3Hcc7RAZI

New Model Army (I've been utterly obsessed with NMA since I was 16)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJy1utpIJCM

Songdog (I only discovered this band recently and they're already one of my favourites)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcC22docc6Y

Malcolm Middleton (Drunken misanthropy makes me smile.  Especially when you're contrary enough to release it at Christmas)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbL9Vsobx8I

It's all a matter of taste Janie.
I'm not surprised the piper was 'lone' though.

One definition of a gentleman is a chap who can play the bagpipes, but doesn't.
