Now that I'm thinking about this end of the world stuff, I recall hearing another "theory" of how/what will happen.

On that date (12-21-2012) supposedly all of the planets will line up, literally, with the "Dark Rift". That is an area in space that is darker than the area around it, with no visible stars in it. It might be a Black Hole. Is is visible to the naked eye, I think, or with a pair of binoculars or a small telescope.

Maybe with all of the planets in alignment like that, there's gonna be a whole lot of worlds colliding!!

Hey! Another 'Big Bang' theory! By george, that may be it.... The Universe began with a big bang, so maybe it will end with one, then the process will start itself all over again....

having read all 4 of Zecharia Sitchin's books, I have to say that they need to get a few facts straight before pronouncing the doom and gloom prophecies! Most of Sitchin's books are based upon ancient Egyptian and Sumerian texts, glyphs, stone carvings and a healthy dose of conjecture and speculation and interpretations. This supposed planet is actually referred to as "The Twelfth Planet" which was supposedly the origins of humanoids on this planet, according to Sumerian legends and artifacts. Much was interpreted from surviving carvings and ancient texts that were transcribed from ancient languages.

I started this post because it disturbed me how people will believe wacky things. This small group of people I work with get most of this stuff off the internet. If they get enough believers, it validates it as the truth to them, and their small cult following gets bigger. Here is a few other things they are paranoid about.

They think FEMA has death concentration camps with gas chambers. They say FEMA has millions of coffins on standby for the 2012 earth ending Planet-X meets earth collision.

They are trying to make a homemade hydrogen powered car, they blew up a plastic soda bottle like a hand grenade, trying to store the hydrogen. They are afraid the government or oil companies will kill them when they perfect their hydrogen powered car.

They think a New World Order is coming, making one Government for the whole planet, they even saw a guy on Youtube showing a proto-type coin, its like the Euro, but its called the Amero, lol. They also get interviews off of Youtube from ex CIA agents confirming the New World Order, lol.

One of the best ones is, they want to Opt out of the government, they say F.D.R.s new deal bonded every U.S. citizen for 50 billion dollars, so they want to collect their 50 billion. They even sent forms to their mortgage companies telling them that the government is responsible for the remainder of their mortgage.

Maybe people that follow wacky radical ideals have always been more wide spread then I ever realized, that or it just exploded recently. I do live a sheltered relaxed balanced life.
