I went to my first munch alone but had been in contact with the hosts so when I came they had an idea who I was. No kink gear as the one I attend is in a family restaurant. Although we meet in the banquet room there are two glass windows and people can see through as they use the restaurant facilites. The waitstaff knows what the group is about so that is not a problem.

I attended my first munch alone too. Yes, it was intimidating to walk up to a large group and hope like hell it was the right one before asking "is this the munch?" It was worth it though, the people went out of their way to be friendly, and welcoming.

I was so happy to have found the correct group that first time...as it turned out, there was also a bible study group that met in the same location on the same night!

Well next Sunday is the London Alternative Market in clapham, larger than a munch but still a good introduction for someone just entering the scene and building their confidence before stepping up to things like clubs and playpartys.

Totally understand about the Munches... This one lived 7 minutes from the Orlando Munch, and only took a mere 3 months of knowing Before attending!

Some suggestions from this ones experience...

Check out if the have a yahoo group or anoither and start intro there. Specifics on goings on, etc etc

Are there any public dungeons there to attend with another for classes on assorted subjects on??

Do some rescearch on the place that the munch is held at, the throw in a ittle CS and dress accordingly.. Every location vairies as to garb worn...

I went to my first several munches alone. I was nervous at the first one, but things went smooth real fast. I looked forward to talking with the people at the following munches. Munches normally have a host, contact the host before going. The host will make you feel comfortable, knowing that it is your first munch.
