That is a great way of looking at it, slavejali. There are things my Master does which i find upsetting, but then after the fact i see what benefit has come from it. He knows when i am upset and that sometimes it is part of the process i must go through to reach my destination. And when i come out the other side, i am so much stronger as a result, for having endured what he wished me to endure (not necessarily with a gag but with anything). i have become a stronger, more confident person as a result. Recently as he has moved me along further in my submission, i found myself tearful while going through what it is i have gone through. And i tell myself now, this is part of the process, to get to a wonderful result. It is part of the training. And when he sees that i have struggled without complaint in my effort to comply, he is that much more proud of me.
So what you have said makes sense to me. you may hate when you are enduring it, but love the end result. So, it makes it worth it. your submission becomes deeper, his admiration of you becomes stronger, and the relationship grows even more. Working hard and pushing yourself for your Master (not necessarily you, but any slave) is a demonstration of submission and devotion that any Master would likely enjoy.
Often, once i have accomplished a difficulty, if it is something he knows i don't respond favorably to (like that damn neurowheel), he will only use it when he wishes to illustrate the point of his control. And i will take it, and deal with it, and afterwards when i talk to him about it i will relay that it was difficult, to which he says, "I know it was, slut."
