i just wanted to say, i have always considered myself all sub, but i used to have a play partner who was a Switch and He was so interesting, the most fun, and a great Person too. He is still the very best male friend i have. After that, i have decided to explore the possibility that i might actually have a Switch side. It's not very well developed right now, but i am liking it. Who would've ever thought? ~smiles~

Like I said in that other thread... Switching is awesome. =) And, it's always good to 'explore' new things, see if there are things you didn't think you'd like, but end up liking after you try them. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤

I think that's the key... being open-minded to possibilities :-) Have fun exploring the switch in you. I would never say someone is wrong to be only submissive or dominant or whatever... if that's what makes them happy, then that's wonderful. But being switch is so delicious it makes me smile... all day :-)[sm=cheerleader.gif]

I was a Top most of my life until '88 when I spanked my wife and she told me that she'd like to try Topping. Later that night, I got my 1st adult otk spanking. We both liked it and I've been a S/switch ever since. Sadly she passed away in '99 but for 11yrs. I was the happiest, luckiest man alive.

I always considered myself a sub as well, but the key was I was only submissive to one man and that stemmed from an overabundance of love. As we did the sub thing and the getting to know each other thing we realized I actually was more of a dominant. That was a surprise! As he proved his case more I then realized he's right...I'm actually a switch. I do like to get my mean on...but focusing on the sub side atm.

I think what being a switch actually means is that you are simply a person who's not stuck on your role of a dom or sub and who just wants to explore SM with his partner... who wants to play... who's more balanced... I don't know a lot of switches through I am one, but I have seen some extreme cases of pure doms and subs both of which seemed unhealthy.... and a switch seems more... moderate...

I don't think of us at all moderate and certainly the people that know us tend to think of us as extreme. Its just that we are not extreme dominants or extreme submissives, we are extreme BDSMers. Its funny because people tend to think of switches as just players and yet we often think of those who are extreme in Dom/sub mode as players because what they are doing is much further away from real life than we are. Because there are no alter egos we can live together on a very equal basis (nobody is superior)

Some of the least healthy people I have met and been in relationships with were switches, I don't think that your oriantation makes you more or less balanced or healthy it is your expression of it that does. We get off on whatever we get off on, not really much choice in it.

I am a new Switch and enjoying it ! I was in denial for several years until I decided to turn lose and explore this side of myself. What a joy it is!

I initially identified as a switch, but then I let a guy convince me that I was a sub. Thank God I came to my senses, because I'm much happier being a switch! [:D]

I've been on the very submissive side for many years now, and recently have been exploring a dominant side of which I really didn't realize that I had. I'd be lying if I said that it doesn't feel somewhat awkward at times, but it opens a whole new world of awareness and emotion in my relationship with my wife. We are both very much enjoying this exploration so far.
