well i am new and i definitely agree u get far too many replies to asnswer all, so i have started by answering polite ones, from people who appear to want similar things, there are also some who dont understand the meaning of getting to know each other before rushing into meeting the very next day, demanding email addresses and phone numbers. I also prefer to talk in depth to one person at a time before deciding whether i want to take things further or move on, you cant get to know someone if you are having in depth conversations with 10 people at a time............ at the end of the day i want the person i meet to hopefully be the right one not meet loads of people on the off chance......... but it is nice to be so popular lol ........

Definatly, when find someone who has the potential to be what I'm looking for then whilst I'll be looking to meet sooner rather than later, you need to take a bit of time at least to work out if that potential is really there. You can't do that off just three or four emails. Nice to see another Brit on the boards BTW. Have fun and I hope you find what your looking for [:)]

I could have used a secretary last night! Went through a bunch of posts...at least 25 appeared to be form letters...in that they just said something like "I really like your profile", or "I think you are lovely" Nothing about me at all, just v general things you could say to anyone. Or one liners... Or..."look at my profile and get back to me" uhm....[:-][8\|] yah, right! Ok...sorry for the rant... please; continue... [:D]

i think a lot of it is to do with the way you present yourself in your profile: I think people with pics have a higher number of responders, and there's a kind of balance of vagueness and intrigue that gets you swamped, when i first started on here I was swamped , but now I've honed the profile a bit and been a lot more specific I get a lot less mails, but they are the kind of mails I do actually want!

And it isn't just what is said but the way it is said and the impression that gives, at least thats one of the things I take into account. Whilst there are a fair few profiles that have caught my eye (Including yours I must say[8D]) there have only been a couple that have had the tone that sparked me to introduce myself. But a lot of that maybe because I'm quite new to this online thing and haven't yet adjusted to it. Nice to actualy see someone on the forum that actualy turns up in my search settings[:)]
