I suspect a lot of us here will be watching, partisanship aside, we tend to be deviationally fixated(sick puppies) altho most of my thoughts have been more consentual/erotically sadistic than cruel sadist. Different strokes for different folks. It piques my interest only in  a play/fantasy  aspect.
Lucy

Well you would have loved the water play demo then. It was very intense.

I believe in the electric chair for murderers, but I'm not volunteering to sit in an electric chair.  Hannity is going beyond what is reasonably required.  God bless him for doing this for charity (if he does it).

Yes, God bless him.  What a guy.

Of course, if I were more cynical I might believe this was a stunt to boost ratings.

But Sean Hannity is far too noble to stoop to something like that.

servantforuse -> RE: Sean Hannity 2b waterbaorded 4 charity! (4/24/2009 7:42:07 AM)

I think that Kieth Okberman should also volunteer to do the same thing for charity. We could then see which side could raise the most, the right or the left.

This is the worse possible scenario for the libs. Hannity is water boarded, survives the ordeal and probably still doesn't tell them what they want to know. Heh. If he comes out alive and well (and he will) it pretty much shoots down every liberal argument against waterboarding during torture.

Which is exactly the point.

If this were actually being done with him as a captured prisoner he could not be assured of that.

Your last sentence of "waterboarding during torture" is also interesting.

Somewhat shoots down your own argument that there was no torture doesn't it?

kittinSol -> RE: Sean Hannity 2b waterbaorded 4 charity! (4/24/2009 7:50:18 AM)

Why? Olberman isn't that stupid. Hannity, obviously, is [:D] .

Lucylastic -> RE: Sean Hannity 2b waterbaorded 4 charity! (4/24/2009 8:10:27 AM)

I think that for insurance reasons, Fox wouldnt allow it!!!!!

Maybe Olberman is just afraid to do it ? All show and no go.

Lucylastic -> RE: Sean Hannity 2b waterbaorded 4 charity! (4/24/2009 8:17:03 AM)

So the whole issue of consent and knowing your getting up and into the limo after the stunt is over with doesn't make this an exercise in willful deceit.If Hannity really wants to prove water boarding isn't torture let him deliver himself to some fanatics with no guarantee of ever breathing free air again....now there's an event...this is just a stunt pulled by a self aggrandizing ass.

Even with consent given and knowing that you are going to survive, it is an intense experience (just ask any special operator or aircrewmen).  That being said, it is still much more humane than the techniques that the "fanatics" use.  I won't even bring up the fun ideas that the Egyptians use.

As far as this story goes, wouldn't the ball be in the court of Grodin?  It would seem to me that he needs to make the donation, or at least a pledge before it reaches the stage of simulating drowning on Hannity.

I wish you well,
Thadius

Hiya Greedy,

Got to love the *tacklehugs* of the Greedy monster... [;)]

Oh and for the record.... I would be more than willing to endure the procedure over and over for charity.
Just putting that out there....

The pragmatic,

ltns Thad.How are ya?

On topic....

Why do you think we out-source some of our torture to the "fanatics" like Egypt and Syria?  Cuz it`s cheaper? lol

And while were on the subject of torture.....

Why be nice guys about it?

If we are so cock sure we have a bad guy with actionable intel,why not get out a blow torch or thumb screws?Certainly quicker and sure to produce the same results.

Yes?  [8|]

Thadius -> RE: Sean Hannity 2b waterbaorded 4 charity! (4/24/2009 9:32:29 AM)

The reason we outsource those to Egypt, is because we do have limits on what is acceptable under our laws.  Perm harm or damage is one of those things that crosses the line... hence no blowtorches.

All of the things described in the memos, are things that we do to our own military and intelligence personnel.  All of those things are (or were) legal at the time that they were being done.  I know I read somewheres in my studies about a concept of Ex post facto....

Great to see you as well,
Thadius

-fast reply-

I find the responses to threads like this to be very revealing as to personal intentions on a great many things.

It would seem that often enough peoples actual views on issues like this aren't always what they hope to purport.

Yes, I agree. Hannity is probably kicking himself that he made such a moronic proposition. How funny, considering that he moralises the rest of us for being against torture. You're not moralising those that are rejoicing at the misfortune of a guy who's pro-torture, are you [;)] ?

Wenchlette, I could give a shit less about Hannity's pomposity. As was mentioned, he knows that no one is going to kill him. If he really wanted to impress me he could have this done by a Taliban flunky in Pakistan.I'd donate to that.

To the point though, I've always taken Hannity to be a blowhard that would compromise his values to further a political aim or just to be able to claim some inconsequential victory. But it appears he is not alone with his rhetorical insincerity even if the prespectives stand opposed.

How so, and are you being deliberately cryptic?
