The Govt. is organizing a financial catastropy as we speak. The democrats did nothing but gripe about the cost of our war against terrorists. With Obama borrowing 2 trillion dollars they are as quiet as a church mouse. One thing is for sure. They can't blame this financial mess on the republicans. They did it all on their own..

Oh what the hell Servant...we sure can blame it on the Republicans. It all fell to shit on their watch,it is the cost of cleaning up after Bush and co.,not to mention a Republican congress for 6 of the previous 8 years.
Yep we still get to blame you guys....sweeeeet.[:D]

Don't blame the current conditions on the Bush Administration. The housing collapse can be layed at the doorstep of your very own Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd. They had their buddies running Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac. It was their policy to make banks loan money to minorities and others who had no business buying a home they couldn't afford. That all started in the Clinton Administration. It took that long to blow up in everyones face..

One name for you servant Phil Gramm.

I'll go back to Christopher Dodd. He had to return several thousand for getting a preferential interest rate on a loan that no one else was able to get. His buddy Mr. Raines was running Fanny. Mr. Dodd is either really dumb for not knowing what his interest rate was, or he is a crook. I'll go with the later..

The Government is a catastrophy. It lent all that bail out money to the banks, and then are dum enough to complain how they lavish themselves with it. Who did not know that would happen. Supporters of the current government will complain right along with them. In due time, the government will just look plain stupid.

This ranks among the most asinine statements I have ever encountered online.

When will this unmitigated bullshit stop ? Those at Fannie and Freddie were not forced to borrow 100's of billions except that same old capitalist greed.

Frank and Dodd were nothing but bit players and only took the majority in 1/07.

Look:

In 2003, during the height of the predatory lending crisis, the OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) invoked a clause from the 1863 National Bank Act to issue formal opinions preempting all state predatory banking laws, thereby rendering them inoperative against national banks.

The OCC then actually promulgated NEW rules that then prevented states from enforcing their own consumer protection laws against national banks. The federal govt.’s actions were so egregious and so unprecedented that all 50 states attys. general and likewise all 50 state banking superintendents, actively fought the new rules.

This unanimous opposition did not deter the BUSH admin. or even slow it in its goal to protect national banks. In fact when one state opened an investigation in 2005 looking into possible discrimination in mortgage lending by a number of banks including national banks…BUSH’S justice dept. filed a federal lawsuit to stop the investigation against the national banks.

STOP this bullshit NOW !!

Yea, I think the repubs are as we write are...trying to recruit him. Don't think he has enough stripes yet though...still a piker in the real plutocracy.

You got it. 'Reforming' [sic] Glass-Steagall was the govt.'s defining move in that these paper-traders and their new forms of shit-paper couldn't be audited and could be 'recorded' [sic] off-balance sheet. What a fucking deal...the sharks and thieves just ate that up didn't they ?
