ORIGINAL: delectablepink Great song Fergus. Back to the Op; "Time = Money" is slang, not a fact. Your logic is therefore flawed. delectable pink Actually, it is a fact .... more than just slang, since the creation of artificial time, money, labor, time are all irrevocably linked. There is natural time, nnamely days, months, years. If we were not here, this measurements of time would still exist. and effect the world (growth cycles and such). Hours, minutes, and weeks are arbitrary time diliniations made by humankind upon inventing things like the clock. If we were NOT here, there would be no 'hours' ... and if we chose to have had a 100 minutes in an hour, we would have ... just commonaliry developed it the way it did. So how does this relate to money? first we must look at labor. Labor is a commodity, like gold, or oil, or basically anything that is bought and sold. But, before artificial time, labor really wasn't measured as such (at least not beyong the divisions of days and months). So, if you were going to make ... say ... a table. How long did it take? It took the time to make a tabe, no more, no less. But as soon as that time could be measured in terms of hours, suddenly, it took x amount of hours. The guy in the next town can make them in x-n hours, and there fore use less labor, less resources, can sell the table for less. Of course, this has caused a steady decline in the quality of goods, as instead of it merely being a matter of saving on materials, we now also have placed real value on time and try to save on that as well. So, yes, time = money ... but only becasue we have amde it so. fergus
