Swine flu, started and longest lasting in Mexico, but now from reports, it is in the US and could well spread further afield. The advice in the US is don't go anywhere where there are large concentrations of people, this could be events such as games or even the church.

What's going on in the world, avian flu, swine flu, any more ?

Why does it seem these things are happening in recent years, these threats from animal borne illnesses ?

Is it something the human race is doing ?

IMHO, the free world has offshored more work and product manufacturing, as third world countries see the benefits of "profits", they start to short cut allowing for developmemt of disease, poor sanitation etc---and we here are so greedy to have, we often times overlook the labor intensive constant inspections in order to "feed the greed".

In general, the increase in human contact due to increased transportation assets and interaction due to a gobal trading system has/is allowing heretofore isolated diseases to be transmitted to a wider pool of people.

In the case of the "Mexican flu" that is currently working its way through the population, I've seen speculation that it may well be human made, and human introduced.
