Ok, the profile has no pic, no interests checked and a few lines of commentary, but through postings, something intrigues you...you have one question allotted to you... My question would be: If you were an item in an antique shop, what you would be? I've actually asked that question quite often and gotten a variety of different answers. Some people answer they would be something like a roll-top desk which I find very useful and would view such an answer as coming from someone service oriented. Others say they would be a broken toilet which I equate to low self-esteem and I would not want to get involved. Some folks want to be floggers or other forms of toys or games which tells me that the play is what is most important and others might be a piece of jewelry which means they probably see themselves as valuable. So, depending on their answer, if it's all I have to go on, it will lead me to more questions or send me running for the hills. I wouldn't mind answering that same question myself if the shoe were on the other foot.

Blank or mostly blank profiles don't interest me at all, and I don't have any desire to question them on anything. I would say something along the lines of "I like reading your posts, but find your profile sparse. I'd like to get to know you. Would you like to have a conversation?" As for me, like others have said... I'll answer any reasonable question.

Normally I wouldn't even be interested in the person if their profile is blank, especially if they have no photo, no matter how many posts they made in the forums... but I guess if for some odd strange reason something would intrigue me about them I guess I would have to ask "why is your profile blank?".

I have a blank profile. Well actually now my profile is missing or so CM states. There wasn't much on it anyways. I figure if you read my posts you will know a little about me. If anyone needs to ask a question regarding a post, then I normally will reply. My interests is in the message boards, so having a profile is not important to me.

I don't have a particular question in mind as long as it is not one of those pseudo intellectual "If you were a ..." questions whereby they presume to be able to divine the entirety of what I am from that one answer.

I would mention whatever had intrigued me in their post and ask if they would like to discuss it further. I get a lot of comments on my pic; that has led to some interesting conversations because people have read all kinds of things into it and ask me what was going on the day it was taken.

When I go to the profile and there is very little, then if I feel like asking a question I will usually say something along the lines of "I found your post interesting and would love to know more about how you came to that line of thought, if you'd care to converse."
