And wow was that not something I thought I'd be writing in response to this thread when I clicked on the title. I was expecting someone mildly off their rocker wondering about blowtorches and balls- followed by the scene from Punisher that was already mentioned...

As the cotton soaks up water, their belly will bulge like they're pregnant. But you wont see it as you'll be round the back, plucking all the wooden slat splinters out with tweezers, by the light of your cigarette lighter.
Play safe, dip your tweezers in alcohol first to sterilize them and don't let them get close to your lighter
