Mine does not require me to be at his feet. I don't think he has ever asked me to stay on the floor beside him. I believe that he is waiting for me to be comfortable with it first, which I find very comforting, funny enough.
I find that it is a BIG step though, and I am a bit nervous to take it. It is a gesture that means a lot of things.

i'm feline without all the fur so aside from the obvious favorite of curling into Masters lap (flipside) being at Masters feet has always been another favorite for which i have always enjoyed...it's especially enjoyable when his pet is in heat *blush*
