Anyway, the point of the topic was to find out if the idea of a shopping slave who buys everything you want, carries all bags, massages feet etc appeals to women, either dominant or submissive? And if yes, what is the reasoning behind it?

Skip the foot massage and I'm all for it.  I love shopping if I'm in the right mood for it (I rock the sale racks), and if I can do it with someone else's money, so much the better.  Having a good little slave to carry all my stuff -- icing on the cake.  But the slave has to be a bit of a fashionista.  I want to be able to ask for an opinion about an outfit and get an intelligent reply.  "Yes, Ma'am, you look fabulous *drooldrooldrool*" is not an answer to the question of whether this blouse goes with this skirt or would the blouse go better with those slacks.

masmiss -> RE: Shopping slavery (5/2/2009 4:28:57 PM)

I wanted to see how Peon explained it.  Of course I know what strappy sandals are.  I do happen to like them in pink, by the way.

PeonForHer -> RE: Shopping slavery (5/2/2009 4:42:08 PM)

I don't know, Manxy.  I heard that after all that awkward War of Independence business they don't have queens in the US anymore, apart from in San Francisco, of course . . .

Sylvere, seriously - you're making me really chuckle here.  I mean, there are some things that a woman can reasonably expect of a few, very unusual and special men - and there are some things that belong to the realms of fantasy.

I must be blunt, now.  What you are hoping for here is simply not going to happen, ever. [:D]

Lockit -> RE: Shopping slavery (5/2/2009 4:58:25 PM)

I loved when I had someone who went shopping with me and made it very comfortable for me... but these days... I want someone doing the shopping thing as well as some of this harder work I have going on.  If he can shop, load and carry and lay brick, planting and all that... now... there is a man I could hang with! lol

I had a blast with three laying brick today... they had a blast with the dominatrix funny haha's and all admitted... they sure wouldn't mind!  I think my introduction to the neighborhood went well! lol

A great quote has just popped into my mind - though I can't remember the author:

"American women's shoes look as though they were made by someone who'd often heard shoes described, but had never actually seen a pair".

Hmm you used that quote about British mens shoes.....
[sm=mistress.gif]

Oh and did you forget the eddie murphy movie.  but then again i don't live in Queens anymore.

i thought he did quite a credible job in the description already.  i knew exactly what he meant, mismas

hmm edited to remove mismas name where manxy should be.  dunno what happened there.
must learn to preview

Oh ye of little faith...

That's why I prefer *women* as slaves.  [;)]  Though I have to admit, a couple of my bi male friends are almost as good.  If they were into the D/s lifestyle, I'd nab them in a heartbeat.  Alas, none of them have come forward to beg my collar as of yet.  I remain hopeful, though.

I would never ask a straight man for fashion advice.  You will be told that you look fabulous in strappy sandals worn with striped socks, a flowered skirt, and a checked flannel shirt, and that your bum does not look big in it.

99.9% of the time I'd agree.  But my fiance is the straightest man I know and he's got awesome fashion sense.  It helps that he sews costumes for Renaissance festivals.  I can take him shopping and know I'll either walk out looking stunning or I won't get anything at all.

Will do, I get the most chavtastic bag I can find and you will carry it! You're on!

I might have said it about British women's shoes - the originator was French and used it that way.  I can't remember who adapted it for American women's shoes.  Me, I actually think it's best applied to American men's suits. [;)]

Yeah right.  I'll believe it when I see it. You dommies are all mouth and no thighboots.   Flakers, the lot of you. [;)]

PeonForHer -> RE: Shopping slavery (5/2/2009 6:09:04 PM)

Bricklaying's a cinch, Lockit.  And I'd be glad to do it dressed only in my G-string, of course.  Well, obviously, I'd be wearing my monocle and top hat as well - I trust that that goes without saying.

Lockit -> RE: Shopping slavery (5/2/2009 6:27:36 PM)

Bring it on g-string guy!  I might sell tickets to the neighbors!  The after party could be very interesting!

My husband shops for me regularly and can buy outfits that match and look great on me without me even being there- including shoes and accessories. yep!  It's another reason the entire "shopping fantasy" thing does not have legs for me.  I have to be in a certain mood to enjoy shopping anyway, and I am quite spoiled because if I need clothes I can send him out to buy outfits and know he will come back with good options.  He has me try them on at home and then returns the ones I don't like.  He even does this without me saying I need new clothes - so for normal clothing, I rarely go out and buy anything. Or shoes.

Purses, though, I pick out on my own.

This is me being completely envious.  Sadly, having other people shop for me doesn't work.  I'm an odd size; I'm short and pear-shaped but I have a long waist.  I have to try everything on and I usually have to buy separates so I can mix sizes.  What size I take also depends on the cut.  I've got everything from size 8 to size 12 pants and XS - XL in blouses and t-shirts.  It's easier just to go myself.  But if I'm in the right mood, I can shop all day and love it.

V, I'm sure that, no matter what you were to wear, your bum would always look . . . . . . . . .

[As a matter of interest, if I were to have finished that joke, would you have paid my hospital bills?]

LadyLou -> RE: Shopping slavery (5/3/2009 7:10:24 AM)

Shopping for me is a planned out, army-style reconnaissance-type mission. It's not (always) fun for me. I can't just buy stuff, I have to walk into various stores, compare prices, try things on, compare ingredient lists (if appropriate). I want to purchase the best quality I can for my budget – whilst shopping I'm constantly evaluating quality vs price. I have very specific tastes. I absolutely hate lugging bags around. I hate retracing my steps into a store I was in earlier to get something I have decided on. I absolutely hate walking around bustling, crowded towns/cities – seriously, seriously hate it....

Is it appealing having someone with me at my beck and call to alleviate the burden of my obsessive-compulsive consumer brain, to carry bags, run errands, etc? HELL YES. Alas, my sub lives 200+ miles away, so I don't have that luxury anymore. Thank goodness for online shopping is all I can say! Most things I buy nowadays are ordered online. Having a foot rub after a long day of shopping? Never happened, but sounds blooming lovely.

Thing is, I don't really enjoy shopping (most of the time). It doesn't excite me. I don't really 'do' girly-girly pretty things much. I'm more of a practical person – I buy what I need, I don't fall into the consumerist trap *too* much. Fact is, I don't need 20 pairs of foot-aching shoes that I'll hardly ever wear. I don't need endless supplies of unpractical clothes, sexy lingerie, make-up and jewellery... heck, I don't even wear jewellery. If I buy lingerie, 9.98 times out of 10, it will be utterly unsexy lady-boxers, or the miracle of engineering that is my fav brand of over-shoulder-boulder-holders.

If I do treat myself to something, it's more likely to be a gadget or something for my gadgets. Or at the moment, camping supplies. Mmm.... camping supplies are really floating my consumer boat at the moment! Hell yeah. [:D]

As for having someone pay for it all? Sounds like a very nice dream. In reality, my experience has been I get a bit weird when my sub spends money on me, and that has just been for practical stuff. I wouldn't allow it for faffy stuff I don't need (except for birthdays/Christmas). But anyway, fact is, neither of us would (often) be spending money on faffy/frivolous things we don't actually need – we are both self-confessed tight-wads.
