Sooooo as usually I started thinking, people have this this this n that n this requirements on their profiles.
If you see somebody who really interests you but you're incompatible due to either lets say.. location, preferred race, weight, height, age that sorta thing.
What do you do? Do you drop them a line or do you forget about it n move on?

..by incompatible I mean you n that person could do just fine but you don't fit within their search criteria (not talkin about sex or bdsm interests either) :)
n no I don't msg ppl either unless I feel like commenting about their journals or forumposts or w/e I'm just wondering

I don't browse profiles and i don't send out messages unless it's to do with something they posted on the forums or i know them.
However the word you used 'incompatible' would be enough if i did send messages of interest to make me say nah and move on.

I might send cmail, commenting on a specific interest, maybe more exchanges perhaps. If nothing else, I might gain a friend from it all. Local is great, but anywhere is fine.

Of course height and weight, and race, are not necessarily deal breakers for me, if it is for someone else, fine, it's good to know what one wants. Age can be an issue sometimes, but not always. Location is the biggest problem, but time and money permitting, I don't mind travel. Chemistry is what I truly seek. If I don't connect with someone on any level, then I know it won't work, and I forget about it.

I emailed a Dom once because his profile really struck me.  He was costumed in his photo like something out of my favorite fairy tale, and his profile held such wise thoughts.  There was an ocean between us and I knew it would never work but I did write to him and tell him that in many ways he seemed like a personification of my dreams and went into a little detail.

He wrote a very nice email back, seemed quite pleased by the compliment, and it left both of us feeling good.  We never exchanged emails again, but it was just a nice - very short - moment in time.

There have been a few times when I've had exchanges with people who I knew were going to be incompatible for various reasons; mostly location issues, and I've dropped them a line anyway, or responded to theirs.

It's easier to tell someone that you're attracted to them when you know it can never work out anyway.  And it turns out to be a positive experience, even if it's a short exchange and nothing can come of it.  I've been touched in various ways by many people that I'll never get close to. It happens.

I used to ignore messages from subs that had something that didn't jive with me in their profiles like location or lack of compatibility in interests, etc.  But, one day, I decided to reply to a message from a slave in Europe.  We are together now. Fate?  Who knows.

Sometimes I cmail them and find out that they're willing to relocate or are flexible on something else.  Sometimes I simply let them know that I liked their profile.  And sometimes I shamelessly flirt with them when we both know it could never work, but are just having fun.

If I like something about a person I communicate with them. Regardless of whether or not we end up being compatible.

I just don't go through life looking at all the reasons why not. Three of my favourite online friends have something that makes them unable to share my life as a slave or submissive. Doesn't mean we cannot become friends. If the compatibility issue changes in some way, we are already half way there.

Also, just because they are not compatible in that way, doesn't mean they will not have a friend that would be. Who better to introduce two people than someone that knows both of them. Doesn't always work out but it's a hell of a lot better than hunting blindly.

I've done the shameless flirting thing, too.

I would have read their profile, think he's pretty handsome, sounds intelligent but highly incompatible.

I would shrug my shoulders and say "NEXT", then move onto the next profile.

I will respond to ninety percent of messages I get. If someone has taken the time to contact me and even perhaps read my profile, then they deserve a reasonable reply. However I also do ignore those messages which state they want me to contact them on YM so we can get to know each other and that they are ready to relocate in order to serve me. Firstly I state that I requiore a potential slave to actually live in Australia and live close to me. The latter can be negotiated if they are ready to move at their expence but are Australian residents. We have draconian immigration rules which could keep you waiting for up to five years..

Regarding initiating contact, I will make contact as I choose with no specific criteria, other than there is something in someone's profile or posts which interests me.

I'd normally foget about them straight away if they're not compatable;what's the point in trying if you know they definately wouldn't be interested?. But if they're at least in the U.K I may skim their profile, but not much more than that.

Oh yes I just send out an email like that, just now!!
Most of the time I get a nice reply, with some I build up
email contact, but sometimes, people
are too arrogant to even respond with one word.

And it just teaches Me allot about such.

It takes all sorts to make the world go round!

I wish you enough.

If someone looks interesting, I'll often try to talk to them, unless they're very aggressive in their profile about absolutely not wanting to be contacted by anyone who doesn't meet x,y,z criteria.  It doesn't really matter much to me if they're Domme/Dom/sub or male/female.  I haven't been at CM long, but I've been online long enough to take a long, broad view when it comes to networking and meeting people.  I'm not going to be disrespectful and waste somebody's time who clearly only wants to talk to certain people, but if someone is interesting to me intellectually then I'm going to be friendly.  I don't answer all my messages, and sometimes between work and real world social obligations it takes me a long time to answer one, and my feelings have never been hurt by somebody not answering mine.  My feelings have also never been hurt (and this has only happened once so far) by somebody who excoriates me for contacting them--it's totally their right to react however they want.
