I'm going back to read that other thread.  I could have sworn that the things GT had to pick up were stored somewhere in CA.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Meeting people from CM (5/12/2009 9:00:58 AM)

Oh HER stuff is there!    Hmm... I do have a lot of free time this summer...

subage -> RE: Meeting people from CM (5/12/2009 11:02:04 AM)

PsyVamp -> RE: Meeting people from CM (5/12/2009 6:25:33 PM)

I have met a few people from cm, one of them is My pet.
Others that I have met are still friends or playmates and some just never panned out.
Some, unfortunately, are too far away to meet quickly.

Gosh, yes, Greedy should soon be on her way over...

I thought Greedy's arrival was imminent.  I do hope her Welsh is coming along OK.  She'll also have to acquaint herself with the concept of rainproofing.  I mean, really acquaint herself.

girlygurl -> RE: Meeting people from CM (5/12/2009 6:34:59 PM)

Rainproofing? Greedy can come to Oregon for that [:D] yep yep she doesn't even need a passport. Come visit!

I told her that last year ;) Should send her a new note and let her know the phone number still works, there will be a few things that will require adjustment, LOL. But she's actually moving into an area where she doesn't need Welsh, as far as I remember close to the border, so only a few people will speak Welsh. I think I'm fairly apt when learning new languages (my English seems to be alright), Irish Gaelic wasn't easy but to some degree it was possible to learn it, but Welsh, NEVER could get the hang of it, despite living with a native speaker. I simply seem to be incapable to produce all the throaty chhhh sounds that are required.

Ha, since we already heard that meeting women from CM is about as likely as a snowball in hell, I did wonder a bit, I met people from CM and last time I checked, I was definitely female, others have met people from CM, people I know have met their mates here.

So out with it, who has met people on CM, who would and who wouldn't? If not, why not?

I don't think I'd specifically arrange to meet anyone here because I know from just good old fashioned experience that P/people change their mind, get cold feet or just aren't serious in the first place. I think this is especially true if Y/you're meeting a D or an s, and Y/you are the s or D being met.

Maybe I'm just a cynical old f**t.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Meeting people from CM (5/13/2009 5:58:06 AM)

I wouldn't go out of my way to meet anybody, being stood up has happened a few times, but in case I am in their area or they are in mine, then I will do my best to make time for a cup of coffee and a quick hello.

To be absolutely honest, I have met someone in r/l from C.m, but it wasn't a casual thing-it was a lifestyle event that  We were both going to so not really "on topic" I suppose. There have been quite a few O/other who I've been interested in meeting but they're always too busy, "giving r/l meetings a break", live too far away, too nervous, etc. So I've not met many, it maybe just Me specifically T/they didn't want to meet lol, I don't know.

I think there are some here-D and s who go to the BBB here in the U.K ( it's a fetish fair and demo) but to be honest I don't know A/anyone there well enough to go "Hey, are you on Collarme?". So I don't know who I've met or not from here!.

LadyConstanze -> RE: Meeting people from CM (5/13/2009 6:27:49 AM)

I'm a bit put off if they want to meet sort of in "character", I actually once ran out of a place because the guy decided to greet me (rather loudly) as Mistress and made a complete spectacle out of himself, not an ounce of discretion. I'm not trying to hide my involvement (apart from part of the family and work, but with some people in the family it would just be such a shock to them and really go against everything they believe, I don't have the right to give a few old aunts a heart attack, at work it's nobody's business, simple as that, no need to rub everybody's face in, nor am I exhibitionistic enough to share my sexual preferences with innocent bystanders in a vanilla environment - again, I would consider that rude).

A casual meeting is fine, so if I find myself around Shrewsbury next time and it's not too far for you, let's say hello.

The only date I've ever cancelled was when someone from CM was supposed to visit for a couple of weeks and my mother died the week before he was due to arrive.  I'd like to think that's sufficient reason for breaking a date.  Now, if you'd like to discuss the number of subs who don't follow through, this would be a MUCH longer post.

I understand Your point-as the saying goes "Life is what happens to you when you're making other plans". Things happen and they're totally unavoidable. It's the "not following through" bit that bugs Me, or how people seem keen to meet but when you mention it they get jittery.

Omg! I would have died if that'd have been Me lol. I don't do the whole "I am Dom, hear Me roar" thing bcause like You said no-one needs to know and I don't want people to know either lol, vanilla anyway. My family don't know and never will-they're an old fashioned bunch and they'd have Me commited/burned at the stake/drag Me off  for an exocism, or all 3 lol.  And they think that I'm just some "poor little cr***ple" lol. When I go to the BBB I tell 'em I'm going to see a friend from college lmao, and because I'm all sweet n cute an adorable, harmless, stupid, disabled etc, they believe Me. I'm not saying they're predjudiced per se, they just have a kind of old fashioned view.

Sorry for telling you what the BBB is, I didn't realise You were from the U.K. Next time You're in Shrewsbury, I love meeting You, yes, I live a mear 12 miles away.

I suggest that you try to make it in the summer, the British summer will be that rare day of sunshine, make sure you are not too tired or jet-lagged, because you might take a nap and miss it. Since I live here, I mentally categorized the seasons on this island into 2 major seasons, the rainy season and the not so rainy season.

GreedyTop -> RE: Meeting people from CM (5/13/2009 10:47:04 AM)

it's not up to me, LC....  fucking immigration wankers....

PeonForHer -> RE: Meeting people from CM (5/13/2009 10:52:51 AM)

Ah.  Those delightful and welcoming immigration people.  I should have guessed . . . .

TexasMaam -> RE: Meeting people from CM (5/13/2009 11:39:24 AM)

The people I know here on CM were people I knew long before I joined CM.  There are several people here I'd love to meet. Merc n Beth would be a giggle.

I wouldn't hesistate to meet several individuals who appeal to Me here, but I would advise caution meeting anyone from cyberspace.

I once met a submale on the old yahoo chats and we enjoyed a long term D/s relationship.

That said, he agreed to submit to an identity verification and background check before we met real time.  His willingness to confirm his identity is the only reason I met him at all.

It can work,  but I would advise more extreme caution than most posters here would think is reasonable.

i haven't met anyone but some "wankers" who are on heren to play. i am a loyal sub with over 20 years experience but can't get nothing going. i am looking for a Mistress to serve who i can trust and turn myself over to. i am experienced but love to experiment and am very open-minded. my Mistress will control and i understand it is not about me but ALL about Her. Can anyone give me any help?
