Hello E/everyone. I was wanting to ask all the Masters how often They were playful with Their subs/slaves. Do You prefer a sub who is playful and fun while still, of course, be submissive?

(I know E/everyone is different, so i'm just asking E/everyone's personal opinion on this.)

There's a time and a place for everything. If we're in "strict" mode, then no, I don't want her playful. I want her obedient. Period. But when we're just a man and a woman in a loving relationship, then playful is great. When My little girl is in that kind of playful mood, she's adorable. I can be playful myself, sometimes downright silly. We know who and what we are to each other at all times, and we live in the real world.
So, knowing that...we can both be playful with each other. In the proper time and place.

I want mine to be the same woman I have known and loved for 15 years with the simple difference that she obeys. There is no other qualification that I know of to be a "sub/slave". More importantly, there's nothing else I personally need from her. We are playful constantly. I actively discourage her going all subby on me. In fact, it is the only thing that I have said would flat-out spell the end of the collar. I do not want to lose the woman I love behind some slave mask.

At most, that playfulness is a minor inconvenience to me. It means that when I am being deadly serious, I have to particularly specify that. I have a simple formula.... "Kneel mine. Listen. Obey me. <insert command here>" That's plenty to alert her to the fact that we're not playing around in this moment. It's a small price to pay for me at least for all the giggles.

It depends on my mood. If I am having a normal day, then play away. If it has been a rough patch, then nothing gets me pissed off faster than a playful attitude. That is NOT the way to cheer me up.

Playful's great! W/we've had great times with her going thru the list of things you shouldn't say to a Dom while I whale on her ass and try and stop her rocking with laughter...

I don't get these self-conscious types who can't let their "serious Dom" face go. For me, it always smacks of insecurity.

We are playful most of the time. I do have my serious moments where I demand that my boy be serious as well. I am not the "serious all the time Domme", I have to be playful and my boy appreciates that a great deal. Its just how our personalities are.

I'm the same. Playfulness can take me from an OK mood to a good mood, but not from a bad/involved/concerned mood to anything better.

Playfulness Is always great Especialy when the submissive knows her limits in her playfullness. Sometimes are ment for strick work, but there is always time to be a little playful when a sub is on the "good side" of their master.

I usually enjoy a little playfulness, and when I'm not into it, its not difficult to convey the message to her.

Playfulness is certainly an endearing quality, when it's brought about in the proper time and place. Babygirl knows when to use it.. and how I best enjoy it.

I am not a Dominant, but I will say that one of my Standing Permissions is to be as playful as I want. Sir adores my playfulness. We have had a couple occasions where it took a moment or two before I realized that he was serious though. But usually we don't have any instances of me not realizing he is serious or that I use my Standing Permission to be a slacker. I know when it's not 'a good time to play'. It's rare, but it does happen.

My partner and I are playful a good 90% of the time or so. She's been known to blatently respond "Noooooo!!!" to an order, but realizes the order was just me being silly and playful to begin with. Being serious is overrated. :P

As I'm sure others have said, it's going to mainly come down to a personal preference thing, and the better you know your partner, the better read you'll have on when it's playful time and when it's serious time.

The subs I've related to best are those who are playful and have a bit of mischief about them. And they've also had the ability to read and follow my cues with it; to recognise when I want it reined in.

I have a sense of humour and a mostly laid-back manner in my everyday life - which is perfect for catching out and correcting a playful, mischievous sub when it's time to be serious. All within a good natured D/s dynamic; it's not some passive/aggressive thing I use to confuse her but I confess I do love and admire just how quickly a border-line brat can drop the attitude (and her eyes) once I've applied the dreaded "stare"....

There is a time for playfulness, there is a time for reflection and meditation, a time for personal pursuits and a time for relaxing and playfulness. I have a Machiavellian sense of humour and am a born shyte stirrer (I'm part Irish so what do you expect). I like a slave to have a great SoH, to be playful and even cheeky as long as it in in the correct time and in the correct place. She or he can take her or his cues from me if in doubt and follow my reactions as to continue or not.

That's a good point.

Playfulness is good, but I want to also point out that play can be serious, too.

I like both aspects of play: the light-hearted type where we can not take ourselves so seriously, but also the "concentrated" type where we are absorbed in what we are doing and in our own little worlds, even though technically it could still be considered "play".

A sense of humor, and the ability to shift perspectives and look at the larger picture is good, but so is the ability to focus down and be serious, even about small details.

A LOT. But not all the time. I'd say the great majority of the time, unless one of us is feeling out of sorts.

But there's a big difference between playfulness and brattiness. I won't have a bratty slave.
