ExistentialSteel -> RE: Defending "online" and "phone" play (2/6/2006 2:31:24 AM)

The value of words is immense. Interactive, immediate words with someone even more so. I would never discount their effect with those who are literate and good writers. I have, also, seen those whom it is impossible to communicate with on any meaningful level via the written word, cyber whatever included, but those are filtered out eventually. It is never my goal to stay within the confines of a cyber relationship, but words open the door to so many emotions. An online cyber friendship allows discussions of poetry, literature, philosophy, history, feelings, ideas, sex, beauty, truth and love. Get the idea? You can play poetic thoughts off of each other and spiral entwined, upwards into the heavens. It may evolve into cyber sex, but it is also much more than that. Words only, you say, yeah, but great books and screenplays are only words, too.
