We`ll have to refer this to the Why the GOP is unraveling.  thread.

Back on topic...

It`s more like Joe the plumber was using McCain ,not the other was around.Joe errrr Sam, is a buffoon. The worst insult to intelligence was when "Joe`s" critics were called elitists for pointing out he was a fake.Joe was supposed to be "every man",joe-sixpack,the little guy, etc.

News flash, the little guy doesn`t have a publicist!

Except that Cindy had a real beef with the Bush policies that took her son from this Earth. Joe the Plumber was just some lying ass who wanted to be a celebrity. (Thus his video taping the "ambush" of Obama, which he released as a viral through GOP sites.)

Yeah, Cindy got caught up in her own media exposure. As such, she drifted off her own message. I can understand that. (Sort of reminds you of that Meet John Smith movie.)

But Joe was just this know-nothing creep who was all too willing to trade his personal integrity for fame.It was interesting to see his reaction when he realized that every last detail of his personal life was about to become public record.

Bullshit, Sheehan's beef was the product of the anti-war crowd, she had her meeting with Bush, and wasn't satisfied, and the anti's jumped on her bandwagon, until she became yesterday's news.

Joe did the same damn thing Cindy did, got his 15 seconds, and decided it wasn't enough, and the anti Obama's jumped on his bandwagon, until he became yesterday's news.

She lost her son to a just and necessary war

No, see a just war would be one where we were actually provoked or attacked, not one where, under the "Bush doctrine", we attacked pre-emptively.

And a necessary war would be one where there was an actual threat, where there were actual weapons, as opposed to "weapons programs" (George W. Bush, State of the Union Address).

Nice try, but fortunately there are those of us that can read, and listen to sources other than FoxNews.  It is indeed laughable that there are those still trying to defend Bush's unjust and unnecessary travesty.

MarsBonfire -> RE: Joe the "plumber" leaving the GOP (5/11/2009 5:28:55 AM)

If Sheehan was an example of anything, it was of the rights willingness to "swiftboat" anyone... other candidates, 12 year olds who were helped by S-Chip, or mothers who lost their sons to a war that never had any real reason to exist. Meanwhile, they continued to beat the drum and tell us all to "support the troops"... all while cutting their benefits, and to this day not pay for the body armor so desperately needed.

The left has been in charge of the checkbook for the last 2.5 years, yet it's still the right's fault....gotcha.

Owner59 -> RE: Joe the "plumber" leaving the GOP (5/11/2009 6:38:02 AM)

Who`s been in charge of procurement for the last 8 years?

There was no lack of money to buy the armor sets.

Just a complete lack of leadership to do so.

I remember when this 1st came up,the republicans chimed back that John Kerry had voted against funding our troops.Saying that Kerry was the reason that our men and women didn`t have the proper armor. But that funding bill did pass and still there was no armor. There was always money available. The amount of lives and damage that could have been saved is incalculable.A true tragedy.

That moms were doing bake sales to buy their sons body armor is beyond embarrassing.Heads should have rolled on that one but dick and donald have no shame,do they?

Plenty of money for Blackwater and KBR though. No lack of money for Haliburton and friends.

Another example of republicans abusing our soldiers and passing(trying to) the blame.

Shameful.

And you guys think you`ll win the next election?Like none of that happened?

lol

It's going to be interesting to see how the GOP reacts. If they follow their usual tactic, they'll turn on him.

""Joe the Pumber" was never a good republican. We're glad to be rid of him."
"He lied to us. He said he was for our basic values, but it turns out he's little more than a commie dressed in a plumber skin."
"You know, the word is that he blackmailed McCain into mentioning him 27 times during that debate."
and so on...

Wow your right....look how this poster turned on him......Now that's harsh

Nah, ya see, 'turning on him' means someone supported him before, but now doesn't.  ('turn', geddit?)

Mars, on the other hand, is just speaking the truth most of us learned in the weeks right after McCain pimped out Sam the Plumber.

Might want to brush up on colloquial phrases before trying to attack somebody with one of them.

Well then I guess it's a good thing I have Owner on these threads. She always tries to keep me on topic. Good thing her posts are always spot on.

Will Joe go through the chute though, with this large bald head of his? Watch this space.

By Iraq?  (hint for ya: the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.  That would be, you know, a different country)

Uh, Saddam Hussein did open up the country to inspections (maybe this was before you read 3 newspapers and watched several networks?).  Bush kicked the inspectors out so he could bomb Iraq.

Moved WMDs to Syria?  Damn, even your Great Leader George Bush didn't tout that nonsense.  He stuck to falsehoods about yellowcake uranium (until the forged documents came to light, that is).

"And" is a conjunction that allows for more than one noun to be the subject, it does not necessarily put them "in the same bag".  I have no clue what revisionism you may be talking about. You dont need me to post links to the numerous resolutions that were violated, google them yourself.

Yes, but we're still waiting for you find the link about us being attacked by Iraq.

Yet you still seem unable to locate a link about Iraq attacking the US, on any of those numerous news sources you keep up with.

You also don't seem to be able to find any links to back anything in your last post.

Unless you found them and read them and just want everyone to take your word for it.

And you of course have proof of this?  Proof that somehow negates the fact that sectarian Saddam wasn't exactly pals with religious zealot bin Laden?

Big fucking hint you seemed to have missed:  We weren't attacked by Iraq.  Even your Great Leader Bush admitted there was no connection between Saddam and 9/11.  Do you have some secret knowledge that Bush wasn't privy to?

Backpedal much?  At least you've now conceded there were inspections.  Congratulations!  Do some more research, and you might discover the part about Bush kicking out the inspectors so he could commence his bombing raids.

Uh, it wasn't Joe Wilson who discovered the falsified documents, it was our own CIA and the Italian Military Intelligence agency.  The Bush administration later conceded (after Bush's fuckup in his State of the Union speech) that he never should have made that claim about uranium from Africa.

You still wanna stick with that "moved the WMD's to Syria" stuff too? [8|]

Reality check for ya:  those of us in the real world actually have memories.  We weren't attacked by Iraq, and there weren't any WMD's.

Except perhaps in the foggy memories of FoxNews devotees.
