If you have made a collar for yourself or your SO, would you please describe for me.

I am particularly interested in elegant beaded necklaces.

Respectfully,
donna

Willing2serve, have you ever done any kind of crochet or knitting? If you know how to do either, you can buy some very thin flexible wire, the smallest hook or needles, some beads, and make a collar that way. I have 4 necklaces, earrings and bracelets that I have made in this way. The good thing is that you can choose the style that you want simply by changing the stiches.

The collar i have made is a Chainmaille one, a standard European 4 in 1 weave. It is 5 rows wide. the Border is stainless steel and consists of 2 rows.. one on top and one on bottom. the central part of the collar is anodized (colored) Aluminium. The central connectors are Black and the two other rows on either side of the black are alternating in color, green, purple, blue and a pinkish violet. I have pictures available, toss me a line here via Cm mail and i will gladly send them to you

I made the one I have on in my picture. It is simply belt material which I fasten together with velcro. The beads were put on wire pins and then fastened to the rest.

Here are two CM members who have posted that they make beaded collars.

I like to work with a combination of chain mail and leather, using harness leather and stainless steel chain links. However I am planning to teach myseld how to do beadig and mout the beaded coller on a heavy leather backing with stainless steel fittings. I'm also hopefull that this year I'll be successful in making a stainless steel collar from half round 1" stainless steel weapons grade and use a hex screw to lock it.

That would definately be a hefty piece. I have done some chainmaille already.. and this collar i made was my first non-dabbling attempt at a "large scale" piece. i am thinking of dabbling a bit further and making one of Titanium. That would be significantly lighter than the one i have already made. i am rather limited in the materials i have to work with though.

i would much rather wear a beaded collar than one of leather or metal. The one in my pic is a training collar I made for myself. Its made of our birthstones, amythyst and peridot. I used long, dagger shaped bits of amythyst to represent his male and round pieces of peridot to represent my female. I also have a pic in my profile of a necklace/collar I made of beads and funfur yarn, maybe it will give ya some ideas!

i want a Swavovski crystal colar; and nothing came up right away on www.dogpile.com, but i did find :

https://www.astralbeads.com/index.aspx

i ordered some jewelry making books from the library, and we will have to see how pricey all this is...and of course, needs tiny lock & key, LOL.

i'm just looking for something fun to do; not collared.

Thank you....This is exactly what I am doing.. Ive been with my Master a year now and we do talk about me wearing His collar. Even though I have been in the lifestyle almost 6 years now, I have never accepted a collar and i do want my first one to be very special...So, I had thought about presenting Sir with the idea of U/us making it.

Please keep me informed on how it works out for you.

If you're looking to buy beads, I HIGHLY recomend Fire Mountain Gems.

They have a catalog and an online store (google finds it). I've ordered from them repetedly, and I'm always pleased with their spead, responsivness, and merchandise.

They've got a HUGE selection of swarovsky stuff.

I make leather daycollars and have not yet incorporated beads, but it sounds like a novel idea!
