She said they didn't know but that it is commonly reported.

I have witnessed eye colour change because of emotion frequently. Mine tend to change from blue to green when I am angry, surprised or in the heat of the moment, if you will. While earning my degree, I asked one of my professors if the change was just perception or an actual occurance. He told the change was very much in actuality. He said the cause for the colour change was dilation of the pupils. When the pupil widens, it allows for more even red light to enter the eye. The addition of the red light allows for the eye colour to variate.

A nerdy explanation but I hope it solves the puzzle.

I have naturally light sky blue eyes. I have found with my own eyes that their color is enhanced by the clothing I wear. So a lot of it is perception, in a way. Darker clothes, darker eyes, blue clothes just make them look very blue, green reflects green and so forth and so on.

I have noticed though they occassionally go from a sky blue to a silver grey and also to a yellow like silvery gray. I have also looked at them in the mirror and controlled this color change, but yes a lot of it does seem dictated by the amount of light in the room.

Do they change during a scene? I don't know. Maybe I should look into that. I do tremble often however, when a flogger is passed over my skin and that little voice inside starts saying "Hit me!"

I have noticed that they go a hard blue when I am very excited. So they probably change colors when I Top.

its just THIS kind of stuff "I" dont know about, and i guess? it is something the rest of you all..take for granted----coz i aint one of your play me do me boys.
i JUST do service so "I" miss SO much of the topics...it is ALL above my head..
just like folks ask...what do you see looking into someone'e eyes...i dont LOOK in eyes...i was taught NOT to.
people ask...face me when i talk to you...NO!...that means an intimidation attempt and THAT means a fight is on.

I just had this exact same experience.

A pet I was using has gorgeous hazel eyes...in very pale skin and black hair no less...so very striking.

And when he became fully "on" during play his eyes were the most brilliant green I have ever seen...it was hypnotic.

To the point of I almost thought I was imagining things...snicker.

Fabulous to know this happens in other pets as well.

Yes, that is exactly the word I was looking for. I get lost in his eyes, they are so BEAUTIFUL. He is beautiful in every way. His intelligence, his wit, his innocence and his laugh. His laugh is so infectious. When other people are around him, they feel happy. He just glows.

Pup's eyes are normally a brownish/grayish color. It is strange. But oh how I love those submissive green eyes <s>

During a particularly intense energy exchange, he said he saw the reptilian in me when my hazel eyes turned gold and glittered (among other things.) He continued to love me, he couldn't help that, but from then on he became afraid to totally open himself to me. So that event became the beginning of the end.

I hadn't thought about this until I read this thread.....

I had some major surgery on my back about a month ago (doing fine now, thanks!) and my eyes are usually aqua blue, but I noticed that since the surgery, they seem to be more of a steel gray. I thought it was my imagination, and then I thought maybe it was the lighting in the bathroom, but maybe it's something to do with anesthesia & other drugs altering my body chemistry, and my body healing itself?

Any thoughts on that, anyone?

But I'm not in any pain anymore, not on any pain killers at all now, I'm just biding my time waiting to get cleared to go back to work, but my eyes are still gray instead of back to blue.

????
