MasterOwnskitty -> Out of body experiences? (2/5/2006 10:01:46 PM)

Just curious if anyone has had any out of body experiences during a scene. I don't exactly mean subspace although I'm sure some would identify it as subspace. I'm talking more of an experience where you feel as though you've left your body during a scene and safely returned to it upon the closure.

What do you mean by Out of Body Experience?

Psychologicaly and emotionaly, many can find themselves drifting away. That goes for the sub and the Dom. When I give a session, I've found myself shutting out the rest of the world focusing only on the target. I no longer see other people nor hear music. It's just me and my pet all alone in my world and our paradise.

You can be giving the session or you can be recieving a session but either way, it's easy to emagine being in another place or even time. You can even imagine watching yourself. After all, you already know what you and just about everyone else looks like. That imagination is so great, you can actually feel you are out of your body.

As a Dom, I just don't let myself get that far. After all, I have a sub to be looking out for and need to be ready to stop at any time. When I see pet this way, I know it's time to wrap up the session and be ready to give atleast 30 min to an hour of after care.

When it's all said and done, it's interesting how pet is unable to remember some of the things I did to her during the session. And these are things I did that gave her a physical response and a cry of pain. So I know that she zoned out somewheres in the concept of sub space.

Regardless of all those that I've given a session to, I've alway had everyone come back after there body had rested. Endorphins are able to take people to higher levels in which it's always best to come down slowly. It's just like driving a car. A slam on the brakes normally does not feel good. But easing off the gas and slowly applying the break never hurts anyone and puts your right back the way you started.

Without going ito detail, I've lost count of the out of body experiences durig meditations with Lodge and other pagan workings. Also in each of the five near death experiences due to combat wounds, I've experienced out of experiences. . Each time I've brought back things which I have used to improve myself.

As a Shamanic Apprentice/energy worker, my BDSM lifestyle is inexorably intertwined with my spiritual path, who and what I am as a Dominant is guided by the principles of the spiritual path I follow.

When I began this life as a submissive, I could go into sub space just sitting talking about play, in scene I was capable of going fast and deep, something I attributed to my meditation practices.

My first experience of Domme space I was working a femsub friend, I could see a vertical space in my mind from her shoulders to her butt, it seemed to act as a graph for me as I worked, too little and the sub wasn't happy, too much and the sub wouldn't be happy, so I focused on staying inside the "zone".

As a submissive it was acceptable to "space out" and go into a deep almost trance where I was capable of experiencing the spirit world, as a Dominant, it is essential I stay present, but I frequently use my skills as an energy worker to link my energy field with that of the submissive. In such a state I am hyper present in the moment and have even been led to do healing work using energy if I found a state of dis-ease in the sub.

However when sitting before or after play listening to the music and play I can spirit journey (I drink only water and don't use prohibited substances).

Yes, and you are right in that many people experience subspace as exactly that.

This happens to many people. Cultures have long used pain as a tool to cathartic experiences and a gateway to the Divine and the Universe, whatever these terms mean to you. If you're interested in attending events that can tell you more about this, look at:

Apex Butchmanns Experience (AKA Butchmanns Academy or just Butchmanns)

Southwest Leather Conference (just happened in Jan)

South Plains Leatherfest (happening at the end of Feb)

Together in Leather (in October)

I also recommend reading items by Master Steve Sampson, Master Skip Chasey and SlaveMaster (you can google them).

Not during a scene, but some pretty intense orgasms I have had. I am deeply spiritual and have done a LOT of deep work, so I knew what was going on when I felt it. I definitely had the sensation of being still attached to, but outside my body, could not speak, and it took me about 15 minutes or so to be able to fully come back into the body.

The phenomenon of leaving the body (there is still energy cord attaching you unless you are dead), is well known of in the psychological/psychiatric world, in cases of profoundly disturbing or abusive situations especially in children. I don't subscribe to the word abuse inside of WIITWD because I feel abuse is a viewpoint - one person's "abuse", might just be another's masochistic ecstasy.

ANYWAY, the spirit can back out of the body to observe when things get really intense. This is how a child can cope with profound "abuse", so I see no reason why it can't happen to an adult who is having an intense physical/psychological experience.

I left my body, for a sexier one...but she said "no", so now I'm back to mine again.....alas...my hand is strong and loving!

Peace, Kevin

the term for what you are describing is called "dissociating"... your example would be dissociating to an extreme level...

slave4Darby3d -> RE: Out of body experiences? (2/11/2006 5:20:55 AM)

out of body experience...

no, not really. but when I am there...in the moment...processing everything...hearing..seeing in my mind..sometimes I cease to feel the pain, although I feel the reaction to it...I see my body react, although it is involuntary, but appropriate to what is going on...

what is subspace to one, may be out of body to another...

besides...who would want to leave the body...that's where all the fun is!
