Hi all, I am looking for a pattern for a hood, I am pretty good at sewing and want to sew one to start to get the feel for one before I spend the money on a good one. Has anybody seen a pattern? I have done a google search to no avail. Thanks, D

Use posterboard to mock up the shape of the panels. Plain paper is too light and will be difficult to work with so run to office supply store for posterboard. You can see the seams in photos of hoods online, so use them as a start. Then cut up the posterboard to about the size of you head and press it in place, tape the other panels in place. You can adjust each panel with more tape and/or draw lines to show where to change each panel's curves. Then start again with fresh pieces and repeat. After three or four of these you will should have a pretty good pattern and be able to trace each panel on to leather.

Balaclava Pattern Has a balaclava pattern that should be pervertable. You'd use a different material and then change the pattern so that the face hole conforms to your needs and perhaps add a draw string closure. You might not find a whole lot of patterns for fetishwear, but there are plenty of them out there for vanilla wear that can be easily adapted. Do a mock up or two in heavy paper first to obtain the desired pattern. I use brown butcher's paper or old paper bags to simulate thin leather to good effect, but you may have some other choices.
