can marriage and this life mix.

darklight17 -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 1:41:06 AM)

Don't be absurd. Absolutely! Although if you married on other premises, it probably isn't wise to abandon all of the things that led you down the marriage path. Just make sure that you are both okay with everything you do, and think twice, thrice, and four times before every adding other people. That seems to be a killer for some.

Fadingthought -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 1:53:09 AM)

Why not? There are different levels of involvement for all parties, maybe it is a kink, maybe it is a 24/7 deal.  But don't be ashamed of getting the person you love off.
Who says love has to be soft?

GabrielleSlave -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 1:54:34 AM)

For me, marriage is an extension of ownership, a sign that the submissive is openly owned in vanilla and kinky life equally.....especially as the word 'obey' would be left in.  i know that marriage is not for everyone, but if Master every wanted to marry me, my answer would be a huge YES!!!!!  *goes back to dreaming..... Him "You will marry Me!" me "Yes Sir!"*

ranja -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 2:39:18 AM)

yes...to love and to obey

IronBear -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 2:48:49 AM)

FR

Why not? My wife, Lady Neets and I share a Master/Mistress relationship, I.E. we are both Dominant. It does tend to greatly reduce the chances of collaring slaves or even finding subs for play partners though because so many female sub/slaves really appear to want ultimately a life partner. Still them's the breaks and we just move on. Thank the Gods that out lifestyle is dependent on neither owning slaves or practising BDSM. Good communications and no secrets is just the ticket for a continuing relationship generally unless outside things like job losses etc interfere.

For many people, it has, but I wonder if the ds aspect has a shelf-life.  I tend to think it would, though I've never lived it for years on end, so I don't know.

smilezz -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 6:34:33 AM)

Yes! and quite well actually....

silvermuse -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 6:38:10 AM)

GreedyTop -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 6:41:37 AM)

works for me and my husband :)

DarkSteven -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 7:08:51 AM)

Depends.Which comes first, the marriage or the D/s?

It's pretty easy for kinksters to simply take their existing relationship into marriage.

It is NOT so easy for marrieds to adopt D/s.  If both partners are kinky, it can work, although there are big issues when they're both on the same side of the kneel.

What's your situation, OP?

dreamerdreaming -> RE: need help (5/14/2009 8:36:55 AM)

Yes, especially if you marry the D/s partner.

Not so much, if you decide your existing marriage needs D/s added. That's unfair to your partner (unless they come to the same conclusion- without pressure from you) because then you're trying to change the terms of your original agreement.

Im so glad you asked me that question.  Marriage and Nothing mixes.  I hope that clears up any misconceptions that you may have had.
