Oh boy, here we go again!
Another *GEM* on the History Channel that begins at the end of this month.
It looks from the promos that they'll have two professional guides riding a bunch of city slickers hard and have all kinds of hijinks happening.
They're already calling it "The Show of the Summer!"
Slaveboy, you'll love this one! Why don't they have them trying to make it across Arkansas and have people there fucking with them?
Now THAT would be much more entertaining!
"You sure do have some purty lips."

Well I read the website. At least they are trying to attach some history to it. It said they "explorers" were re-tracking the route used by Stanley when he searched for Dr. Livingston (Dr. Livingston I presume?), which is a fascinating piece of history. But it's still one of those retarded reality shows.

Now if they want me to watch a reality show about Africa, I want to see them send some explorers into places like Somalia and Sudan. We can really see some interesting situations as the adventurers make new friends. Next season will be an adventure in rebel territory in Burma.

I don't think their insurance carriers will want to underwrite those "special side trips".

Slaveboy, yeah, that'd be fun eh?
"Gee, the natives really do have boiling caldrons as Fat Charlie's about to find out!"
"Oh damn! Did you see that big lion just bite Bobby's arm off?" "We'll definately be departing from the script and calling in a chopper for this one!"

Sailorman, you really knock alot of things, here, a worthwhile effort on history, a whole bunch of money spent... and you bash hell out of it. Give it a chance will ya...maybe we will discover the origins of 'BasketBall'.

777, Slaveboy and me just don't like those "reality" type of shows where the people get voted off the show or whatever.
I just can't "empathisize" with those characters at all. I just don't care for that whole genre.
Or, all the hundreds of "Cop" shows on t.v. "We have a whole new season!" "Twenty seven new COP shows!"

Yep Popeye, and this isn't going to be a look into history. I could tell by looking at the website. I'm sure they will mention Stanley's search for Dr. Livingston, but they won't look deeply into it. It's mostly going to be about the drama between the so-called explorers, which are nothing but glorified game-show contestants. I'm sure there will be some young girl crying because the token, macho dumbass called her a bitch for not setting up the tent right. You'll have one of those moments where someone is whining about the bugs, and decides to go home. It will be pathetic, boring, and geared toward gaining the History Channel some viewers that like shows like Ice Road Truckers.

Slaveboy, LOL!
Yeah, I can see it now,"I can't go any further,.....my FEET are killing me!!!"
"WTF! Fat Charlie short-sheeted me!" ("Beeeeeeep")
"Wahhhhh, where's the HYATT-REGENCY?"

Now, just how much reality can be in a 'Reality Show' with camers, catering wagon, trailers for sleeping, crew of who knows, bathroom facilities, emergency vehicle facilities...all the OFF camera stuff you don't see.

I don't like them either, it's a manipulated exploitive joke.
