Hi all, I'd really appreciate it if you could spare 5 minutes to take my poll for this years research into our community.  Last year showed some fantastic results about self-knowledge and personality types that challenged the definition of our life choice. This year I plan to look at levels of education in relation to the definition of us as a sub-cultural group.

Happy to help, but some constructive criticism: Question 3 is a pig. You'd get clearer results by separating the Trans and SM questions, to catch those who are "into" both.

I don't understand the UK levels to be able to select the equivalent in the U.S., perhaps you could clarify?

Agreed.  The questionnaire would be better if the answers were all mutually exclusive.  The second question has gay, straight, and bi as options - and then adds pansexual which should equate to bi if orientation is the only variable.

Also, the last question about "prejudice" should be better defined.  Is it in the workplace, or dating?  I have never been discriminated against in the workplace because nobody there knows.  I have been discriminated against in dating because some vanillas chose to quit dating me when they found out I was kinky.  If you want to get ridiculous about it, men refuse to date me because I'm a straight man - does that count?

GCSE is a qualification in an individual subject studied for between 13yrs and 16.

'A' levels are subject based and far more in-depth than GASE's, studied between 16 - 19

NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualification and is Job based. Levels 1 - 3 would equate to the same level as GCSE's & A Levels. Level 6 would be at the level of a University Degree.

What the OP refers to as levels 8 to 9 would be equal to a University research seat.

Hope that's clear enough.

I have to agree with DesFIP regarding the educational question. had to make an educated guess at the Canadian equivalents to the UK educational system.

The educational levels cover completely different things, don't they?
