It was a 5.0 in Hawthorne/Inglewood. About 10 miles from my house. Mind you I felt it down at work, some 100 odd miles south of that. Fun stuff.

i am about 20 miles from it and what is interesting is i am on liquid oxygen 24/7 but i have 2 bottles that last approximately 3-6 hours each depending what flow i have it set on

i have my check book and cash and credit cards ready to go and cell phone

and shoes to put on when i am ready to go out the door after the shaking

then i will proceed over to the va hospital and go to the emergency room because if i get low on oxygen i am where i can get more very easily

but let me tell you i was really wheezing like a fool and almost out of breath even while still hooked up to the liquid oxygen

wierd things started to go off in my mind just thinking if the building starts to collapse this is what i do

Hey, I'm about 10 miles from there too.  Are you my ex-wife, by any chance?  btw, it was a very abrupt quake, short and intense.  Hope everyone's OK.

I usually feel any earthquake more than most as I am on the fourth floor of a building and just nervous that way.... but this one didn't scare me so much like most do and I felt it only a little...a friend even called me right after the quake saying..wow that was an intense one and for once I was happy I didn't think that!  It seems people South of the quake felt it more than those West and North of it..from the comments I have heard on the news.

I'm so glad I no longer live on California. I never got used to even the little quakes.

When I first moved here, I felt one while I was in the hearing test booth for my company physical.  I just figured I missed a few signals and the nurse was shaking the booth to wake me up.  [sm=sleepy.gif]

I had not felt one in CA when visiting and they had one. (minor)

I DID however feel the one they had in Chicago in 1988!!!!    It was like a huge tractor trailor hit the building.  I was in the suburb of Bridgeview.  (and yes- when near bridgeview you can see a bridge...not impressive- but still a bridge lol)

Anyhow ALL the neighbors went outside to look around!!!!      Then the next week some chemical plant made a boom.   Mom lived in PA and told me that Chicago was much too dangerous.  ha.   as now she moved back there!!!

Speaking of mom she had a 2nd car accident this month.  My brother said it wasn't her fault.    I mentally  don't lecture mom, as I have siblings that will over lecture her on how "stupid" she is.   Mom is not sophisticated,   but she is mom, and I dont want to grill her on the trials of life.  The woman that changed my diapers as a baby amd put up  with my growing up.   Oh.  ....she taught me to say "please" and "thank you".

Gotta love moms!

       And yet, no matter how many of these nice little warning jolts we get, millions of people are going to be completely unprepared for the major quake that is going to happen eventually.
