Well, I read the whole thing. Eyes are tired now. Anyway, I don't see any problem with the article. I'm just not sure how it relates to BDSM. Here's why: BDSM slaves aren't real slaves and everyone knows they're not like a real slave. They aren't real in the traditional sense. A real slave can't leave, a BDSM slave can, thus why it really doesn't relate. I think the problem you are having relating to people is that you want a "real" slave, whereas there are no "real" slaves on this board. Alot of them will do most of the things a real slave would have to do for there BDSM master. But none of them would sit by and let you do everything, a real slave would have endure. So, I think people get offended when you bring up "real" enslavement topics, because it seems like you are pro "real" slavery. Or it is perceived that you are challenging there "slave" status. Whether that is the case or not, just guessing here. Anyway, the point is I'm sure there are "real" slaves, but BDSM isn't really where they are located. And thus a discussion that mixes "real" slaves with BDSM slaves is bound to cause emotional upset. Because, they are "real" BDSM slaves, but that is nothing like what you are refering to and thus it's apples and oranges. Understand that BDSM is all in peoples heads, a slave is no more a slave than a master. They just act certain ways because for whatever reason they identify themselves as such. But the overwhelming vast majority of slaves are only going to be a slave to a master contigent upon how the master treats them. Real slaves don't have this choice. So, it just doesn't make sense to keep bringing up "real" slavery to a lifestyle where the word "slave" isn't a literal term. There are no real slaves on this board. There are no true masters on this board. Why because all the slaves can leave. At the core it's deeply entrenched role-playing of self-imposed ideas about what a person is. Anyway, I think I addressed the article, while interesting, it just has nothing to do with BDSM.
