You can probably find the executor through the Realitor, you can ask them to pass on your info to whomever is selling the house (which probably will be an executor or administrator of his estate). Also you can check with probate court in the county in which he lived, if he had a will they will need to go through probate court to close out his estate. I believe the information for this is public record. The thing about the CC is anything after the date of death is i believe considered identity theft. Your friend knew of his use of the card even if it wasn't what the guy was supposed to do, your friend unfortunately should have told them the card had been stolen so they closed the information the guy had, that he didn't do this -- they may not now be able to charge him. However, if the person is no longer alive and the guy is using the card (usually an executor will open a bank account to pay off all debts and receive payments), it is idenity theft at the bare minimum i believe. What did the credit card company say? Try and get a hold of the executor, put in writing what you know, if you have any statements wherein you know what was charged etc, the executor can then call the CC company and have them investigate the identity theft. Other than that, i would believe its the CC company that will have to investigate as well as press charges or the executor in your friends behalf. angel
