Okay, this is a bit of a rant. . .

I log on to CM. Wheeee!!!! I have a new email. I am happy. I open the email, thinking that it must be from one of my adoring fans (yeah, right. . . but one can hope.) Nope, it is a one liner. These do not usually bother me. This one, however, has me perplexed. Here it is. . .

"are you still seeking?"

Am I seeking WHAT?

I am still looking for a braclet a friend gave me. Is this an offer of help?

The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Well, sure, but someone will likely take my Lucky Charms.

Self-fulfillment? Well, since it is "self" I think that I am on my own with that one.

Susan? (As in Desperatly Seeking Susan) Nope, I know where she is.

A Dom, Domme, Sub, Switch, Slave? Did not even know that I was looking for one.

A friend, lover, therepist, doctor? Again, I have not been actively looking. But should one turn up, that is another thing.

A car, vaccuum, cotton gin? No.

God, Jesus, Nirvana? Nope, I am not looking for those either.

I already know that the answer to Life the Universe and Everything is 42.

I am still left with the conundrum of what I am supposively seeking (other than the braclet).

What kind of a question is that? I really wanted to respond with, "Are you still beating your wife?"

I do not mind the one-liners usually. After all, having essentially no profile and no pictures cuts my mail down to almost no mail. But I do mind such open-ended questions that leave me guessing as to what the referent is.

So, does anyone know what it is I am seeking, or supposedly seeking, or should be seeking. Because I certainly do not. *sigh* This is going to bother me all day.

Best,

LaMalinche

Just think of the fun you could have if you chose to answer it.

Drat, I meant to post this in "Off-Topic." How do I move it, or do I just re-post?

reminds me of that movie with the dentist and the guy strapped to the chair while he tortures him asking "Is it safe?"

LOL

I get this all the time, even though I state quite specifically, and up front, I might add, that I am not.
I am sure he means are you seeking a boy? However, I do agree that he might have been more specific. But, like many others, I am also confident he doesn't want to take the time to write many sentences in order to get your attention.
A few succint lines in your profile, along with the areas you might be seeking might help you out. After all, you do say:

So I have to take it that you do enjoy receiving email. But I can't guarantee that adding a bit to your profile that this solve the problem. I used to get this one liner even when My profile was quite lengthy and I was seeking a slaveboy. I even gave specific instructions on what to include in their letter of introduction and I got email all the time asking Me for permission to "apply". *W*

I put on the top of my profile a request that no one emails me with just one line. I then explain that I put a great deal of thought into what I write to people and I expect the same.

Soon after I posted that, I got an one line email that said, "one line."

I wrote back and explained that their eloquence was staggering and that I was completely blown away by their linguistic prowess.

I got an email back that said, "No wonder you are divorced... you have no sense of humor."

I tried to write back and say that in this little exchange I highly doubted that I was the one lacking the sense of humor but she blocked me.

Most people respect my request and I get a few lines in an email. This is just something that you have to deal with... but I certainly would have toyed with them.

I have no idea what you are seeking ... but if you happen to find a sense of humor lying around somewhere ... it might just belong to Gauge.

I can't help determine what you are seeking either, but if you happen to find some cheese anywhere, there have been several threads this week where the whine is flowing, maybe you could offer them some of the cheese if you find any.
It's good to read your post, your sense of humor is refreshing after all the drama the past couple days.
Be sure to let me know if you find that bracelet. Do you want help looking for it?

I feel like the Wizard of Oz.

Fun for Irish

A slave boy for Dusty

A sense of humor for Gauge

A cheese tray for Tapestry

Wheeee!!!!! (So much more fun that a heart, a brain, a home, and the nerve.)

Ironically enough, after I posted, I got several more emails from one-liner males. It must have just been the day for it. Ahh well. I am now back to my "no-mail" state. Life is normal once more.

Oh, and I still haven't found the bracelet, but it has been missing somewhere in my house for about nine months. It will turn up eventually.

I wonder what amusing thing will happen today? Thank you all for the responses.

Best,

LaMalinche

Assume that they mean money and thank them for the offer and inform them they should send a bank cheque for US$100 asap.

Now that, IronBear, is a good idea. Perhaps I shall start responding to those types of emails with that. Once I stop the coughing fit from laughing so hard. Thank you.

Well, the Whirled Peas are easy enough *goes and gets the food processor*.

And *poof* A Dom for Candy. He should be on your doorstep by five o'clock this evening, complete with flowers, dressage whip, paddles, rope, and chocolate. Have a good time.

Best,
