Heart I think you rock too.

Love the new photo btw.
If you were not straight and anywhere even resembling close to the farm, you would be having soooooooooo much fun!

This world is more fun with you in it La T!

Yanno Marc, I think I would faint dead away if I ever saw you make a silly, giggle inducing, post. Although, there was one I read about keeping Cheez-its in the fridge that took me aback. You totally ruined my image of you, picturing you eating Cheez-its. Please tell me it's not directly out of the box!!!

Now, don't get me wrong, I do enjoy your posts. They almost always cause me to "Hmmmm, never thought about it that way." or "Damn, I wish I had said that!" Just that Cheez-its made me do a double take.

Yes, I do eat them out of the box—but don't tell any one that.

Is it just me or does anyone else wonder why there is so little mention of the importance of good old fashioned FUN in D/s style relationships and BDSM generally?

So many people seem to take it all so seriously, which is sometimes necessary of course, but who wants to be in ANY relationship where there is no fun, laughter, humour, frivolity and sometimes plain good old fashioned silliness?

Btw it's always seemed to me the best (and most secure) Dominants have a terrific sense of humour!

Do too many of us take ourselves too seriously?  Any thoughts? Or perhaps you could tell us what's the most fun you ever had in BDSM!

Thanks.

LIFE is fun, so anything I do within my life, I'm going to hope to have fun with, be it work, home, friends, D/s, M/s, BDSM, LMNOP, XYZ, and so on.  Of course there is time and place for seriousness versus fun but the two can always cross (remembering singing Lady Marmalade in a company meeting last week because nobody knew what song I was talking about...).

I have a blast reading all the posts and bursting out laughing half the time. Anyone who thinks this isn't a fun group doesn't know fun.

That must have been a very relaxing experience for everybody and the meeting resumed with much more efficiency i assume?

Fun... definitely one of the most important aspects of... well really, anything.

If you aren't having fun you shouldn't be doing it.

All our meetings are fun yet efficient.  I'm not sure about relaxing, though, but we do have a good time while being quite productive.

Some people take WIITWD seriously. They take themselves seriously. They believe there is a RIGHT way to do IT and THEY are the ONES. By and large they are serious arseholes (sic, I'm English).

I'm here to have fun in many different flavours. The bit I take seriously is safety, and I'm seriously grateful for the accumulated experience on here that tells me things I never knew, or managed to forget.

I owe my status mainly to my extended flooding of the P&ORS forum

I guess, away from there, I've noticed I have a rather curt, blunt, humorless turn of phrase, but that's cos I'm a fan of brevity...and to be honest, in my professional life, that's the tone I take.

Those who know me for real, know I have a serious mischief habit, the cheek of the devil and a repository of some of the cringiest, worst jokes ever produced by humanity.

Because BDSM is serious business.  I don't believe in having fun with it.  So I take it completely gravely at all times.  Even when playing to the theme tune from Mr Ed.

sometimes i feel bad for Master lol, there are times when i'm such a goober (my friends call me that all the time) that i'm surprised he doesn't shake his head off but it does keep his life from getting dull. Master and I have a lot of fun, he loves to tease me (like the time i opend the hotel door to the maid in my neglige and collar) or he'll plan a fun outing and surprise me. And I make sure things don't stay too serious, that's no fun though I have pushed it too far sometimes and then it's not so fun.

Tho OP didn't say that the cm crowd was necessarily overly serious. She did say 'generally'. From my experience, cm is the most laid-back, fun online BDSM community I've found.

But let's be honest, we all know kinksters (often, but not always, Dom) who always act so seriously that it seems that everything is a matter of life and death. It might be that that is their normal personality, or it might be that they are always 'on', but the fact is that they do exist in every kink club in the world.
