There has been much talk of people not voting at all in disgust at the wreck of the gravy train at Westminster over the last few weeks - and just as much talk of people making protest votes, choosing from parties outside the mainstream.

English voters - how are you thinking to vote or not for Europe?

Will it fix the gravy train in Brussels ?

People voting UKIP or BNP are seriously deluded. Both parties would do more damage to the UK than the expenses scandal has done.

BNP......Racist, enough said there.

UKIP.....Had an ad about British jobs for British workers......and used a shot of American models for the photo. You couldnt make this stuff up could you.

Indeed; Brussels is at least (very least) just as bad.

As for UKIP, I really dont understand the logic of it all. If the premise is that one should vote in the European elections because Europe originates most of our laws, how does it make sense to vote for a party that wont represent us as to those laws?

As for the BNP, agreed - nuff said. Except this, that it may just do the system some good if by some chance they get an MEP this time in that it wakes the mainstream up to do something about them and stop leaving them a vacuum where they can tout their pernicious lies and turn their self centred pity at their own failings in life into policies that are attractive to the less considerate. For heavens' sake - lets get them into the public domain, lets debate them and shut them up once and for all with clear argument that will show them for what they are.

Overall my hope out of all this is that we get to change the electoral system so that we no longer have turds automatically elected by virtue of the colour of the ribbon they wear and set loose to do as they damned well will secure in the knowledge of their reelection whatever they do.

E

The speakers seat in Glasgow East will tell us more about voters thoughts than the Euro election. Martins wants his son to stand, its a safe Labour seat, so will the Scots vote him in or out.

Whatever else labour will lose votes in the European elections and Browns days look numbered. With any luck.

Yep - and that there, that he wants his son to stand in a safe seat - doesnt that just tell you all you need to know about how rotten the whole thing is, in so many ways?

Its ironic he wants to pass his seat to his son, when Labour reformed the Lords due to this very thing. I have a strong view on MP`s being given safe seats just to get into power. Luckily Goulds daughter wasnt selected to stand for Thamesmead.

I was never going much into politics over here and only took part two years ago to do my ex the favour to vote for his party where he is a councillor. In Germany I used to know fairly well what to vote but over here I never got the hang of it (though it is the same mess in both countries of course). I couldn't tick on your poll as my option is unfortunately not there...I would have voted for his party again (I know that's a poor way how to do it, but as I don't care much whom to vote here at least i would be able to give his party a vote more...) BUT unfortunately I am not here as I am going to gran  canaria from the 1st ot the 8th of June...and just missed the deadline to request the postal vote...so I can't go...but would have gone otherwise...A few months ago I received a letter from the council to ask me if I want to vote on behalf of Germany or on behalf of UK. As I missed votes at home in the past due to mother not bothered to let me know (and I am not bored enough to keep checking news at home) I had decided to vote for UK...on that piece of paper I had to tell them where I am registered in Germany so they can make sure (according to the paper) that I am not able to vote twice. However...now due to messing it up over here with the postal vote/going on holiday...I am not able to vote...
