In my brief time here, I have noticed that when a dominant shows his/her ignorance in a post they are pretty well skewered; but if a submissive makes the same type of error they (usually female) get a lot of support and "education". Is this just me or am I seeing things clearly?

I think it's more so the manner the ignorance is presented in.
Beating of the Chest while throwing a Hissy is unbecoming which is what
some Dominants do, most yet not all Submissives seem to take a softer approach.
I've never found it possible to educate a closed mind, the quiet one is more receptive.
Seems to me its just the natural order of things..........

I agree with Quivver about that. I've found that if you contribute in good faith and are polite, others on the board respond in the same way. It's those who are rude, obnoxious, repetitive, and demanding that get skewered.

Naturally there is an occasional jerk who just feels like insulting anyone, but that seems pretty rare.

I think I know what the OP is posting about...

What is more amazing is that when someone does skewer this 'poor sub in need of education' how the board will turn & lash out at the one that doesn't cut them any slack & tells them straight out what they they of their post.

No example to offer... I just recall seeing this a few times & actually felt some heat from time to time but this usually happens when the one(s) dishing out the heat has misread my reply.

Everyone's fair game for the skewering, in my opinion... its a public forum & everyone can post as they wish. (so long as they do not break the rules presented)

Personaly I don't bother checking if someone is listed as Dom or sub when I read a post. If I respond then I respond to what is written and the manner/tone of what is written.

If that means I am reacting one way to Doms and another to subs then that is mearly co-incidence. I'm sure that goes for most posters here.

Ive noticed the opposite. On the whole-people, wheather Domme/Dom,sub or slave have been happy to help and have been friendly. It depends on what's being said and how it's said.

Very true. It usually depends on what is being said and how it is presented, but matters not if the poster is male or female, Dom or Sub

Men will try and eliminate the competition, women can afford to be nasty to the men.

Men will try and woo the newbies and women attempt to act like "sisters" and want to look like friendly people.

I think if you stick around long enough you will see that it's not a matter of showing ignorance that's the problem- it's showing it in a rude and pompous way that makes the difference. I've gotten buzzed a few times for being too "harsh" on the newbies, so I can assure you that it's not as simple as male and female.

Thanks for the eye candy and peek into Your life Raven Muse, Your quite hansum and I enjoy Your openess in Your search for sub and read Your personal posts when I come on.

gbgirlz2003

Most Dominants can afford to say pretty much what they want and it doesent need any support regardless if its concidered dumb, or arrogant, or worthless because just being a Dominant They have enough support with in Them selfs to say what ever it is and has no
need to either gain support from others to say it or need others on Their boat in order to feel whats said is right or wrong, dumb or smart.
We Dominants most time have Strenth in Self and thats what affords Us to write and say pretty much what ever We do. JMO
Its the same Strenth that rules Our worlds, Our Work, Our Posessions. Wouldent WE all be quite boring if We all were cut from
the same cookie cutter.

Many thanks for the complement MD. No point in trying to pretend to be anyone other than you are, especialy when searching for someone to share your life. Once you meet, if it is only a mask then it wouldn't take long to slip and then the trust is lost before anything is even begun.

As for your further comment. Quite so, this is about opinions, it isn't a popularity contest. If someone shows me WHY my opinion is wrong on something then fine I'll reassess that opinion but if I think I am right then I'll stand by that opinion come hell or high water.

I think I'm in the minority, but I don't go and look at someone's profile when I'm replying to them.

I may look at a profile later, or if I admire/hate what someone's said over a long period of time, but overall, I'm responding to the words of the post and how an individual presents him/herself.

Same here... I don't look at profiles of posters. Unless it's a post on profiles...and then most of the time, by the time I get to post.. others have commented so much on OP's profile... no need to go look at it. (example.... Alot Of "I have a Master already" post)

I read what is posted... decide if I have something to respond with. Sometimes right off the bat.. sometimes a few times.. sometimes.. not at all. And sometimes.... wish I had not at all.

IMHO, is it is more someone who is blatantly arrogant--especially when one has only a few posts--no question we all have ideas--and are very free with sharing--I find at times we tend not to be so tolerant of thoughts and ideas---no matter who presents them--kind of at times depends on the phases of the moon---smiles--

I'm a female sub and I got skewered when I first started to post. Right Merc.
It has nothing to do with who you are, but more of how you present yourself.
And what you choose to post on.
It's usually the male doms who go scurrying away with their tails between their legs after taking a beating instead of weeding through the messages and finding pertinent advice.
