Presumably, Google, Yahoo! and any one of thousands of websites could, and should, get mentioned with scant reverence. Perhaps the age of content theft is coming to an end.

That first session is followed by "Journalism Online: Presentation on proposed service to charge for access to newspaper content and to license that content that (sic) online aggregators" (the assistance of at least one of the many copy editors sent packing by the attendees might have been sought).

-----snip.

Now add in THIS factor-

Digital video and audio cables, similar to the ones that already connect TVs to DVD players, cable boxes and receivers, will soon come with a new capability: connecting those devices to the Internet.

Throw in the RIAA...

Consider how cable bills have decreased dramatically,  (not)

add in how DSL wants to charge by the Giga byte,  metered,

splash in capcha

a cyber czar,

the quality of programming on TV.

the intrusiveness of it.

News.  hmm.  most of is the 'content" is propaganda.   so how is that property?

It isn't like we have any real investigative journalism any more.

....There are times that I hate technology

You know those bundled packages?  phone, cable, net, for like $103?   wait until this starts.

In other news- silver is up today.   :-)

The article claims that the set top boxes will be able to connect to the Internet by December 2009.

I've got news for the article's author.  Dish Network and EchoStar demonstrated the 922, a STB with Internet capabilities, at the Consumer Electronics show in spring of 2009, and will make it generally available in summer 2009.
